Experience swahili style with comforts of home: great coffee, airconditioned room, swahili furnishings, rooftop breakfast in swahili lounge and central location. Not beachfront and no pool but these are nearby. Beware the local tour guides, we tried two and both terrible so did our own thing on later days. Not sure if this is representative. They have something to learn... More

This little gem is tucked away in Stone Town's winding lanes. Excellent value for money, with helpful lovely staff, we were delighted by our trip. I would definitely come back; a wonderful base for exploring the history of the town.

The room was very nice and the hotel looked very good. I really like the style of it, also with the special room names and the suitables key chains. I had a extern bathroom just for me, it was ok for me to walk the corridor to the bathroom, but it's not like you can move freely between bathroom and... More

This little hotel is like stepping back in time, from the creaky wooden stairs and old-fashioned beds. It's not luxurious but it makes up for that with its character. I loved the rooftop breakfast and the amazing coffee. Very sweet, friendly staff, too.

Wonderful place to stay once again. Staff are great: friendly and very helpful. The room was spacious and good AC meant it was cool enough for working in and a good place to relax, too. Lovely breakfasts and the staff were flexible with food meaning I could have an earlier breakfast and 'be in the office on time'. Great coffees!

We spend only one night in Stone Town and loved this place. We found a very friendly staff, excellent rooms and a fantastic location on the top. The breakfast was great. Warmly recommended if you like individual housing.

This place has awesome coffee hence the four out of five review. Unfortunately it's expensive, you have to pay for wifi, and you are not allowed up on the roof top terrace unless you are staying in the hotel. Good place if you want to escape the busy streets of Stone town.

My fellow accompanying Adventurer on this trip told me that he came across this gem while awaiting my arrival in Stonetown later that day. We both visited together the day after and tried the spicy coffee. Awesome space filled with loads of character,a friendly team and most reasonably priced. We were staying at a hotel close-by and each time we walked... More
