While tidying up some papers at home I came across the bill for lunch at Auberge de Sombral, dated 21 July 2008. I remember that wonderful lunch on the terrace under the umbrella, on a beautiful summers day being our return to Saint-Cirq-Lapopie after an absence of 12 years. Our first visit with our then 3 yr old daughter was...

The owner here is so nice- we came very late (midnight?!), driving a few hours from the airport after our flight landed, and the owner waited for us, whereas most places would likely have closed. The room itself was very tidy and nice- I'd have liked to stay there longer. The town is adorable.

We stayed only one night in St.-Ciq-Lapopie and this hotel really added to our experience. It is in the village, close to the tourist office and the best view point in the village. The room was very charming, decorated nicely and was very clean and comfortable. The shower was great! The staff were all very friendly. We had dinner at...

At this out of the way village you can dine al fresco in the middle of the quaint town and enjoy the local Cahors wine and cuisine. Run by a family that has owned the restaurant for many years you will be treated to great fois gras, fish, and meat dishes served with very reasonably priced and well matched Cahors...

Great little hotel found in the village opposite the tourist office. The room was clean and comfortable. Wifi is free but reception for this is only found in the restaurant, or the tables outside - sometimes is good not to be looking at emails, etc !! Breakfast basic. They did not do evening meals during our stay but the were...

Excellent location in the middle of the village. Parking was free though located few meters uphill from the hotel. Rooms was basic but very clean. Had dinner as well in the property and was delicious. Breakfast is only served for the B&B guests and needed a reservation. This B&B is highly recommended.

Everything we ordered was fabulous. Washed down with a 2011 Chateau Pineraie 100% Malbec from nearby Cahors. Life is good. Service was great and the indoor rooms are beautiful. Desserts were WOW! Reserve in advance.

The hotel is located across from the Office de Tourisme on a beautiful square. Although the village is very busy in the summer, most tourists leave in the evening, and our rooms were quiet and comfortable. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for dinner.

What a pleasure it is to give a really positive review. This place is exceptional, location, ambience, service and of course excellent food and the escalope! This dish is a must. They've recently added a new seating area, a pretty terrace so do yourself a favour and visit.

I love this village and even though the hard working owners couldn't get us connected to the internet, I still recommend this establishment. Who has time for the internet when you can spend your time walking through this beautiful place where every corner brings a new view even more lovely than the last. Even though the rooms were without air...
