Lovely motel, we had a room with balcony and we had a glimpse of Seneca lake. The room was comfortable and clean. Very good value for money. If you want modern and state of the art, don't stay here. Personally I prefer a home from home feeling and a smiling face (Angela in this case) greeting me.

This is a great little Motel!!! We stayed October 19, 2016. It was clean, warm and just perfect for our little get away to Seneca Lake. The Motel was cozy, the young lady at the registration was very nice. We would stay here again. It's not the Ritz, it was clean and warm.

We had 4 couples and stayed for Columbus weekend all were pleased with the motel. it is a older motel but very clean. the staff was very friendly and welcomed our pet. great view of the lake. only wish they had wifi. Prices were reasonable , we will stay again because of it being pet friendly .

The hotel is run down. In one of the rooms we used the toilet seat was damaged and not something you would want to sit on. The sheets were creased and not inviting. The noise from the trucks was part of our night. The receptionist was kind and said that others had also complained.

Chieftain's considerable charm and value were more than enof compensation for the fact that it is an older motel and definitely a bit worn around the edges. It's very clean and tidy, however. We stayed 2 nights, and there was always morning coffee and danish to start us on our way. Indeed, one morning, the owner/manager Theresa had just baked...

this is a lovely, old-style motel, privately-owned out of a 50s movie with good rates and a lovely view of Seneca lake, perhaps the best in the area at any price.. rooms not flashy but clean and comfortable

This is an older style motel, very clean and accommodating. Just outside of town but convenient for anything in the area, including downtown and the track. Decent parking, not much in the way of breakfast. They are pet friendly! They fill up fast on race weekends, so book early.

I stayed in a one bed room on July 12 thru 13 for fingerlakes wine festival. Our room was just as expected, front desk woman was so honest and kind, told us they weren't as updated but were clean as she cleans them herself and Ive never been offered breakfast at any previous motel, this one had coffee, juice and...

We stayed here twice within a week. The owner and/or manager was friendly as were the other guests that we met. The room was large, spotless, and well-maintained. The bed was a bit firmer than I prefer and I thought the price was a little high for a basic, but nice, roadside motel. The prices are quite a bit higher...

We recently stayed at the chieftain motel in Watkins glen over race weekend. We had a blast and hiked Watkins glen state park. The rooms were very affordable and clean. Julie that works there was the best by suggesting things for us to do in the area. You wont find anywhere else with that kind of service and for the...

“Pay the extra amount and request the larger room with the balcony. It does look over the highway but we enjoyed sitting out there with our coffee and a good area for the dog.”
