We loved the outside impression of the Cuello de Luna - the Hacienda takes you straight back to the past. The staff was very friendly, the food surprisingly good, the common room is nice and cozy with an open fire and overall we had a great time. The location is fantastic! Sure, there are a few downsides... the rooms are...

After a visit of the Cotapaxi, I stayed in this lovely, quaint, serene hotel. It is surrounded by nature and one has a superb view of the. Mighty Cotapaxi! It is run by An Swiss owner , who can give excellent advice about roads, sights to see and so on. The room was lovely, spacious, with an open fireplace, which...

Too quiet and isolated for two nights. And too cold in room and common area, especially the first night when there was also not much hot water. Expensive dinner - $14.50 without drinks. Very good included breakfast. Required a 50% prepayment (which incurs a PayPal fee) and has a long period that incurs a cancellation charge. Not managed professionally. Great...

Overall, we had no problems here. We were the only ones staying so it was very quiet and a little awkward, especially in the evening and at meals. They offered free breakfast and we bought dinner. Food was fantastic, but very quiet. Host was OK, and answered our questions, but didn't offer anything extra. Not much hiking from the hotel...

We appreciated a lot this place. The hacienda is isolated, so very quiet. It has a very nice patio around which are located some of the rooms. The owner was very friendly and helpful with the organisation of our tours in the area. The room was well cleaned. We had the possibility of having a wood fire made in the...

We stayed here for one night, the views and location are beautiful and the rooms were reasonably clean. My only real issue: the rooms were absolutely freezing, the heater was too weak to change the temperature and the walls as cold as though the room had not been heated for weeks prior to our arrival. .

The property is lovely, the rooms are quite cozy (and get warm after a while), the showers are hot, and the shared space with fireplace is pleasant. But they really need to work on their hospitality; other than one other couple we were the only ones there but did not cater for us. Staff was nowhere to be found most...

This remains one of my favourites in Ecuador - out in the country-side, but still not too far from Latacunga and the markets around there, and not even that far from Quito. A very nice hotel (a transformed and expanded hacienda, good quality but not in the extra-expensive exaggerated category), very nice rooms with electric and wood-oven heating, and an...

We stayed there for one night, a group of 15 people. The rooms were very cold, just a small radiant heater in each room, furthermore depending on large clearences between door (window) frame and door (window) leaf. The worst thing about them was the cleanness. Floor and bathroom were dirty, on the walls you could find spider webs, and hairs...

“While I love the view out of what is probably the best room (the Cotopaxi is right there !) over the years the motorway (in the distance) has become a lot more busy with trucks, and makes this a slightly less quiet room - all is relative in this very quiet countryside !”
