I am sorry to see that Jungle Lodge may be having problems, it was a unique experience. We would NOT go back but NOT because of the services of the lodge, but rather, we are not to asv"in" to the wild as this opportunity provided. The Lodge met our expectations, good food, but limited, good beer, and friendly people. If...

If you want to have some horrible days, just book tambo Lodge. It cannot be worse, they promise everything and expect just the contrary. we were onlly two, First they let us wait an entire morning form 8 until 13.00 in their ugly office. They had promissed a markettour during this time. when the guide arrived and we dared to...

We went on the 4 day/3 night stay. This lodge is about to close down in December 2012 and it appeared that the owners have let it run down. We were advised prior to going that there would be a bar (with cold beer) ... which there wasn't, internet, which there wasn't, and many other things that were non-existent. The...

Really enjoyed our stay here. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. The food was lovely. The activities were great, got to see lots of great wildlife - monkeys, caymans, otters and lots and lots of unusual birds and insects. We were a little restricted in our activities due to weather conditions, but it is the rain forest...you have to...

We booked a 3 nights/4 days trip with a travel agent in Cusco, which was 290 US$ including the bus ride. The people in the lodge are doing a very good job offering great food and organizing great tours around the jungle. The problem is the organization though. For example on our bus ride to Puerto Maldonaldo (where you are...

From the time that our guide met us at the airport in Puerto Maldonado, he was by our side to help us with whatever we needed. The main building of the lodge is alot nicer than I ever would have expected. This is where we ate our meals (and our guide ate with us always). The meals were very good,...

Met at the airport in Puerto Maldonado, then transfered to the boat that took us up river to the lodge. At first, we wondered if we'd been a bit mis-lead, thinking there were a few more conveniences here. However, after asking around, this may be one of the places with conveniences at all! Things to know: 1. The "huts" have...

We absolutely loved our stay at Tambo Jungle Lodge. It was our first such experience, and we were definitely pushing ourselves outside our comfort zone. But the staff and guide are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The food was amazing, such unique and "home-cooked" dishes as opposed to the stuffy restaurant food we had the rest of our stay in Peru....

I had always wanted to travel to the Amazon - being in Peru for a month allowed me this great opportunity. Staying at the Tambo Jungle Lodge proved to be an exceptional experience. The attention and service we received was excellent, the accommodations were amazing. Remember your in the Amazon jungle, so forget about all the modern conveniences - each...

We did the 4d/3n trip to the Tambo Jungle Lodge last month. From the minute you step off the plane, till they drop you off at the end - the staff at the lodge is amazing. Our guide, Alberto, was so great - like having our own National Geographic explorer to tell us about all the different animals, and bugs...
