I had never been in St Émilion before and I did not know anything about hotels nor restaurants. When I found available rooms in La Petite Madeleine I decided to book them immediately but I did not expect how nice would be to stay there. It is a small and charming house so close to St Émilion and some great...

Thank you for the nice review. We had a very good time as well when you and your parents ate at La Petite Madeleine. We wish you all the best with the "sommelier career". Hope to see you back in Saint-Emilion or close to Barcelona. Véronique & Thor Inge

We stayed here during a road trip through France and Spain. The owners showed us our room and it just so happened that we were the only guests that night so had loads of room and a pick of the bedrooms! The owners were really helpful, did a great breakfast and even booked a wine tour for us which was...

Good that you were happy to pick your room but we only have 5 to select from ;) As you mention we are 3.5km from the centre of the village of Saint-Emilion. Thor Inge and Véronique

We stayed here for two nights in October and enjoyed it thoroughly. Veronique and Thor are very hospitable. They helped us with restaurants, and made reservations for us even when we had to change them. Thor cooked dinner for us and 4 other Americans one night, and the duck was so delicious. We recommend that you have him cook for...

We were happy to welcome you at La Petite Madeleine. It is true that it can be hard to find us the first time. That is why we send some very detailed information about how to find us. We are on google map. And soon, we should get new signs! Véronique

The quality of the rooms is very good for a bed and breakfast. All rooms have private bathroom. Nice breakfast. I will also recommend having dinner there. Just ask the hosts. The hosts also have good local knowledge and will help you to book restaurants and guided tours to vineyards.

After staying in several large cities on our trip, it was so nice to get out in the country and just relax at this lovely B&B. As others have mentioned, it is truly in the middle of the vineyards. The owners, Veronique, Thor, and their son Alexander (I hope I got his name right because he was quite charming) were...

Thor Inge, Alexandre and I were very happy to have you at La Petite Madeleine. I can not say anything different about my husband's cooking. That is how he convinced me to marry him ;) Véronique

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst stopping by in St Emillion. Veronique and Thor were great hosts, breakfast was great, and Thor's cooking was superb. The cottage has a lovely homely feel to it, and the living room and outside area are lovely to relax in after a 'hard' day scouring vineyards.

People do not always realise that being on holiday in a wine country can be hard. So, you definitely need a peaceful place to relax ;) Véronique

Small and very homey. The owners are engaging, helpful, and very interesting people themselves. They did o very good job of rehabilitating the house and keeping its original features. We enjoyed the stay and had excellent vineyard views. Homemade jams topped off breakfast.

Our family rented two rooms at La Petite Madeleine for two nights in August. Thor and Veronique are awesome hosts and speak excellent English. They email pages of very helpful information prior to arrival and remain extremely accommodating during your visit. They will suggest wineries and restaurants according to your tastes. La Petite Madeleine is in a beautiful location a few minutes outside of St. Emilion but you should have GPS if you are driving. We arrived having driven from Carcassone being very tired, hungry and frustrated to say the least. The annual wine festival was being held in St. Emilion and we were unable to get access to the street...

Nice b&b on a good location in the middle of the vineyards around Saint Emilion. Friendly welcome by the owners who do their best to make you feel at home. We enjoyed staying there and we will return with pleasure if we decide to visit that part of France again.
