My wife and I were biking from Bordeaux. Maggie LaCoste from "Experience France by Bike" had recommended lodging with Catherine at Chateau Franc-Pourret. We hit a home run in securing 3 nights at the Chateau. As the other reviews state, the breakfasts were wonderful and probably the best we experienced in our 18 day trip. None of our breakfasts were...

Lucky us! We got to spend two nights at this wonderful Château. Large comfortable room with a view of the vineyards surrounding the Château. A large modern bath and plenty of accoutrements to meet your every need. The breakfast served was wonderful. We had a little apple tart, wonderful baguette and croissants, a homemade organic yogurt that was delicious, an...

Had a delightful stay in September at this small chateau/winery just outside Saint Emilion. Loved being able to walk (20 min) into town - I jogged and enjoyed the vineyards and views early in the morning. Catharine is a lovely hostess who prepares a wonderful breakfast and goes out of her way to be helpful. She is kind and tries...

Our four night stay here was just perfect in every way. The room was very clean and comfortable, with coffee, tea and sparkling water provided. The views from the windows were spectacular. Easy few minute drive into Saint Emilion. The walk is about 20 minutes, but through the vines and back streets. So picturesque. Perfect base for exploring the area....

This place is perfection. Catherine is a wonderful host, the chateau is beautiful and the rooms have been marvelously updated-very modern bathrooms, great wi-fi connection, but the rooms themselves have a great deal of original charm. Short easy drive from Saint-Emilion (parking was not a problem, Catherine gave us great directions and we followed her advice to park by the...

Very nice place, near the village of Saint Emilion (it is within walking distance, but the road has no sidewalks). We always went by car to the village, as it was relatively easy to park. The rooms are very nice, and have the atmosphere of a real chateau. The lady in charge is very nice and prepares a great breakfast,...

Catherine is a lovely lady who is flexible and helpful at every stage of your communication. The Chateau is very nicely done and very comfortable. The neighbouring town of St Emilion is quite beautiful - a decent walk across the vineyards brings you into quite one of the loveliest towns I have visited in France. The vineyards and chateaux in...

Imagine waking up in a beautiful old French bed, comfortable and refreshed to the aroma of freshly baked patisserie and throwing open the shutters onto vines that stretch as far as the eyes can see. Then, after a refreshing shower, walking down to the cosy breakfast room with open fire warming inviting you to sit and pour a lovely cup...

We spent two nights here in June. We could not fault anything. Lovely bedroom beautifully furnished and large shower room with everything you could need. Catherine is a charming and perfect host.
