This appears to be a favourite with locals and visitors alike in Whitianga. Good sized bar with pool tables, pub quizzes and live music. Well run it provides good pub grub, reasonably priced. Worth a visit for a drink or a meal in this atmospheric village hub.

A great hotel to take the whole family to for dinner in lovely surroundings. An old building with a lot of history and character well renovated. Staff very friendly and helpful. Saturday night live music was a blast.

Ate at the Whitianga Hotel on one night during our recent visit. The pub was noisy, filled with locals, the beer was cold, the food was good, the canned music played, the bench tables rocked a little, the atmosphere was good...all in all a typical night at a typical pub....LOVED IT

Mixed feelings about this place. Menu looked good and you have to order at the bar. Not very efficient service with a queue of people and only one person taking orders. The service wasn't overly professional. There were 3 of us and the first two meals came out at least 10mins apart. The third meal had to be followed up...

After a morning on a boat trip I was ready for food! The chicken and bacon salad was very tasty, good size portion, friendly staff. My table was a bit rocky - my fault I'd moved it into the sun, the waitress realised and quickly replaced the wedge.

Attempted to have dinner at the hotel last night all set to order then told they had no gluten free pizza bases. Following this they had no chicken. Advised they could do a steak sandwich only to be told by the chef he is not willing to do it. I was then offered fish and salad as it doesn't require...

Went for dinner at this hotel for the first time in years, my has it changed, it is a well laid out area with inside being along the line of a traditional pub and the outdoor area set up for food and entertainment. The food selection here was excellent and at a good price, with a menu to cater for...

Didn't have the time to place a food order but the atmosphere, service and beer was brilliant. Love the speights 5 malt on tap...yum! Bathrooms were clean and well presented. Can't wait to come again and make a night of it! Highly recommend!

Recently had dinner here while visiting on a Sat night. Bar and wait staff were very pleasant. My partner had shrimp cocktail and ribs for dinner - was lovely and had no complaints. My squid rings were fine but my chicken burger was pretty average to be honest. Was soggy buns with plastic cheese - yes the nasty cheese slices...

We ate dinner here two nights in a row. Drove, pleasantly too, 40min one way to explore the menu once again, only to purchase the same beet salad as entree and locally bred steak. I have heard of the spiritually minded blessing their food prior to consumption. The second visit, I actually took a moment to let the senses be...
