We stay at The Thayer Hotel a couple of times a year. We've stayed every season and have enjoyed the beauty, history, staff, and cleanliness of the hotel. We've enjoyed fine meals and just a nightcap with family. The bartenders are wonderful, professional and treat each guest

I've done the train, and it was a nice trip along the Hudson - very pretty. I'd recommend that, plus the cab at Peekskill. The cab could be expensive, though. It's easier to get around here than it was (for me) in Ireland, so I don't think you'll have any problems. I wouldn't drive it if you can help it, though - this particular part of it can be a bear - I've driven it, and I didn't like it.

Not sure. I did not see any pets while there but I would call ahead. The staff is very accommodating.
