This hotel was a disappointment. Though architecturally interesting, and it fits in well with the grounds at West Point, the room was sterile, out-dated, and dirty. The bed was painfully uncomfortable -- so much so that we ended up removing the cushions from the sofa and throwing them onto the mattress to try to get some relief. The noise was,...

This is my first review ever, after years of using TripAdvisor as an excellent resource for my own vacation research, because I feel strongly that other reviews of the hotel did not reflect my experience. The location of the hotel for those who have needs in the West Point area is fantastic, and it is beautifully situated on the river....

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are so glad that you enjoyed the wedding that you attended and that you were able to get a great deal on the room. We are glad that you were told about the noise from the train on the Hudson River railroad and the rooftop bar and lounge. Many of our...

Was underwhelmed and overstimulated by the bar. Live music was a nice touch, but the crowd was pushier than anticipated even over a holiday. The bar food was good -- small plates, but the quality of the food was delicious, and unique. Not sure I would stay again, but it was a pleasant respite in a long drive.

The Thayer Hotel sits directly on the grounds entering The U.S. Military Academy. We valet parked our car, which was included with our stay. The hotel is overflowing with history from West Point. Our room had beautiful views of the Hudson River. The staff was friendly, service was good, we felt rested, and enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at the Thayer for an official USMA event. The hotel is loaded with character and history. I would have spent hours looking at pictures in the lobby and along all the halls. The room was very clean but was a bit small for my liking. Beds were comfortable and the room had everything in it one would expect....

Using the app Hotel Tonight, we booked a room at The Thayer for $100. As we pulled up, we realized that it's actually on the West Point campus and is a VERY formal hotel with gilded decor. After we adjusted to the opulence (backpacks in tow), the service was great and the room was very nice with a view of...

We loved the Thayer! We attended an Army retirement ceremony for my brother, and met many family members for several days of celebration at the hotel and surrounding West Point attractions. In addition to friendly staff and comfortable rooms, there are several choices for dining. Our favorite was breakfast on the terrace, with stellar service by Sergio. In the evening,...

Wonderful stay at a very beautiful location. We had an end room overlooking the hudson River and the beautiful grounds of the hotel. The room is small but the bath room is spacious and modern. I was totally surprised by the accommodations in this 100 year old establishment. the staff is wonderful and the meeting rooms were a sight to...

My best friends, husband and I have a brunch reunion every year at the Thayer. The food is amazing and so are the mimosas! What makes the experience the ultimate best is Sandy Fall. Our amazingly, friendly and thoughtful server. Sandy, thank you for reading our minds and knowing what we want before we ask for it. You're a kind...

We returned to the Thayer 10 years after our first trip to West Point and it keeps on getting better. Very reasonable rates, with an added discount for active or retired military. We had a corner room with a view of the river out one window and the garden out the other. There is a freight train that passes the...
