Temple House has been in the same family since the 17th century. Paintings of the family ancestors hang on the walls. It is serene and beautiful. Roderick and Helena are perfect hosts that make you feel so welcome. There is a ruin on the property from the Templar Knights (hence the name of the manor). Room was large and comfortable....

We stayed at temple House several years ago but the wonderful memories linger on in my mind. It is an experience like no other. The outdoor walks around the grounds and lake were breath -taking. the sheep herding was so interesting and the relaxing stay in the castle as I like to call it was the best. The food was...

Temple house is a fascinating place to visit giving you the chance to stay at the sort of house you usually visit on a tour. You're made to feel very welcome, Roderick is so friendly and dinner all around the same table is very special. I loved the dogs accompanying you on walks around the grounds and the good wifi...

We've been to Ireland several times and always stayed at ordinary B&Bs. This time we thought we would treat ourselves to two nights of something different, and what a treat it was. Lovely bedroom and bathroom, excellent mattress, darling lambs playing in the meadow, charming hosts and fellow guests, the best scrambled eggs I've ever eaten, a very good dinner...

Roderick and Helena Perceval are the most gracious hosts!! You feel welcome in their home, and WHAT a home it is!! This is an absolutely beautiful country estate on 1000 acres including lake, sheep, and even family dogs, to soothe yourself when feeling “homesick” and away from your own.  The guest rooms upstairs are enormous!! You feel like you...

My visit to Temple House was so wonderful, with a great host more than happy to tell tales of the house, its occupants and the local area, fantastic food (many thanks for accomodating my allergies) and an all round relaxing experience. The 4 course evening meal being a set menu was such a treat and so wonderfully cooked with no...

We had high expectations of Temple House before arriving based on online reviews. However, the reality far exceeded those expectations. After 10 days of staying in conventional hotels throughout Ireland, our jaws dropped as we drove down the long driveway surrounded by grazing sheep and views of castle ruins on the premises of an 18th-century manor house. It was like...

Thank you very much for your words. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. It is worth noting that dinner is only 45 euro each (it might be misleading on your review). We believe that 4 courses of good Irish produce cooked with passion and care by our French cook remains good value. Hope to see you again.

My husband and I stayed at The Temple House from 23 till 25 May 2013. Coming from the Currarevagh in Oughterard where we just before had a fantastic time, we were slightly worried that no place could exceed our last days' experience. From the moment we entered the estate, I could not believe my eyes... Left and right from the...

If you get a chance to stay here, don't miss it. We stayed 3 nights this week. Everything about Temple House is excellent. The owners, Roderick and Helena are warm, gracious hosts that make you feel right at home in their home. Our room overlooked the lake and 12th century Knights of Templar castle ruins. This a grand country estate...

I don’t even know where to begin in reviewing our stay at the “Temple House.” My friend and I spent 10 days traveling through parts of Ireland and our stay here was the highlight of our trip! One enters the estate by driving down a long driveway that takes you through a green pasture filled with hundreds of grazing sheep...
