We stayed here for 2 nights last week, our son is doing his college internship here so we came to visit with him.It is gorgeous here, very peaceful and just relaxing. Our room was beautiful, very rustic and just perfect for us. The grounds are gorgeous to explore and the onsite restaurant is very good. There are a lot of...

My family has been gathering every summer at High Hampton for decades and once again we had a great experience this summer. The grounds are breathtakingly beautiful with hiking trails for all skill levels. We love the ambiance and the opportunity to unplug, relax, talk to each other and enjoy the mountains. It is particularly good for mixed generations -...

We love High Hampton Inn. It's a great family vacation -almost like camp for grown ups but with all your food and maid service included. Spend your days hiking the mountains, swimming in the lake, paddle boarding, kayaking, having afternoon tea and cookies, croquet, bocce ball and other lawn games or just rocking in the chairs on the porch and...

This is not your average 5 star hotel. The rooms are not the most luxurious. The service is attentive but not Sea Island spectacular. But if you go in understanding all that, you won't go wrong. The rooms are rustic but charming. But they don't have TV, and wireless and internet is spotty. The service is great, but aside from...

Thank you for the time you took to write. We are grateful that you were clear that a vacation is more than white glove service. You clearly understand that the surrounding beauty and the ability to choose from the myriad of activities we offer, is the vacation. There is much to be said while on vacation about - do a...

Despite what some might consider major negatives, High Hampton remains one of my favorite places to stay. There are rustic oddities, extremely spotty cell service, weird wi-fi, clunky reservation/billing software, and enthusiastic, unfailingly polite staff who don't always understand English. There are dress codes, no elevators, the bar doesn't open until 5 and closes at 10 p.m., and no telephones,...

We took a two day family trip with our four daughters and our German Shepherd. We were amazed at the beauty of the property which included a stunning golf course and numerous nature trails. The children occupied themselves swimming and exploring the grounds. There was a day camp for our youngest child. My husband and I had quality time alone...

It's been two years, but I finally got back to my favorite place in North America. On this visit I even brought friends and they loved it as much as we do. We stayed in our favorite cabin, The Watson, which is across the lake from the rest of the cabins. We were treated to the llama walk passing directly...

Ours is one of many families that have been gathering at High Hampton every summer for over 60 years. My husband and I got engaged on the lake trail in 1989. We have been vacationing at High Hampton for eight years. We stay the same week each summer and it is often like a reunion as families come back year after year. We had a great business meeting here and would love to come back with the family. The staff was very accommodating and the facilities are wonderful. Old fashioned charm and mountain style. The beds are super comfy. Food is simple but yummy. Be sure to hike up chimney top and have a cocktail at laurel garden.
