My recent stay at Residence Inn by Marriott in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte, North Carolina, was a mixed experience that had its highs and lows. First and foremost, the comfort of the beds deserves commendation. They provided a restful night's sleep, allowing me and my two sons, who accompanied me for a sporting competition, to wake up refreshed and ready for the day ahead. Additionally, the staff exhibited exceptional friendliness throughout my stay. From check-in to check-out, their warmth and hospitality were evident, making me feel welcome and valued as a guest, as well as making my sons feel at ease in a new environment. One aspect that stood out positively was the hotel's location in a safe area, providing peace of mind during my visit with my children. Moreover, the breakfast offered was delightful, with a variety of options to cater to different preferences, setting a positive tone for the day. However, my experience was marred by some minor inconveniences. The toilet in my room had issues with flushing correctly during the initial days of my stay. While the maintenance team promptly addressed the issue, it unfortunately resurfaced shortly after being fixed. Additionally, while the rooms were generally clean, there were noticeable areas where minor touch-ups were needed, indicating a potential for improvement in housekeeping standards. Furthermore, it became apparent that the hotel could benefit from a renovation to modernize its facilities and enhance the overall guest experience. Despite these shortcomings, the front desk staff, including Mr. Francis, stood out for their exceptional service and hospitality, which was especially appreciated as I navigated my stay with my sons for the competition. In conclusion, my stay at Residence Inn by Marriott in Ballantyne, Charlotte, was characterized by comfortable beds, friendly staff, and a safe location, providing a suitable base for my sons and me during our sporting competition. However, issues with room maintenance and cleanliness, coupled with the need for renovation, detracted from the overall experience. Nonetheless, the exemplary service provided by individuals like Mr. Francis leaves a lasting positive impression. Rating: 3.5/5

I recently stayed at this hotel in the Ballantyne area and had a fantastic experience. The property was incredibly quiet, making it easy to relax, and its convenient location near stores and the highway was a huge plus. The staff, especially Mr. Francis, were outstanding - his lively personality and eagerness to assist made our stay even more enjoyable. The rooms were spotlessly clean, which was greatly appreciated. The only drawback was that one of the elevators near the entrance wasn't working, but the attention to detail elsewhere more than made up for it. I was particularly impressed when I asked Mr. Francis to prepare a pot of coffee for my colleagues and me using the coffee we had brought from Target during my morning run - he happily obliged. Thank you, Francis, for going above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. Your dedication and attention to detail truly made our experience memorable. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

"What an amazing stay at Residence Inn in Charlotte, Ballantyne. The rooms were impeccably clean, and the hot breakfast was not only impressive but also offered a great variety, avoiding any blandness with numerous delicious choices. The convenient location near restaurants, Target, and more added to the overall appeal. The staff’s hospitality, particularly from Francis, went above and beyond. Even when checking in late to my reservation, Mr. Francis assisted my wife and kids with getting situated. He went out of his way to bring two cups of fresh coffee and some cookies to our door. Thank you so much for the great hospitality, Mr. Francis; it truly doesn't go unnoticed. Nestled in a secluded area, this property is a top-notch choice for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, with a well-lit parking lot and a breakfast that exceeded expectations. I would definitely choose this location again. This is what I call true Marriott hospitality."

Marriott Corporation better get to this property and begin renovations immediately! I would give this place 5 stars for its GM and staff as they are doing their very best to provide hospitality and service in a place that is so tired and rundown that it is truly hard to believe! We were told it was scheduled for renovation in 2020 but Covid changed that. Well, it's almost 2024, and the poor manager cannot even get the minimum of supplies to replace ripped curtains and worn out furnishings!! We are lifetime Platinum Elite and we love Marriott (obviously), and we hope that Marriott brings ita rooms up to the high standards that are being set by Emily, the GM, and her fabulous staff!

Awful!! The Worst!!Most of the staff was very unfriendly and rude. I will never go stay at this hotel again.the food staff was awesome and went out the way to accommodate. Rooms are small. I’m so glad they overbooked and we had to move, because I found out then how hotel staff should treat their guests.

Lost track of how many visits this is for us — but each and every time we receive the utmost in Marriott hospitality from GM Emily and her wonderfully-attentive staff. Every thing here is just perfect. And as the weather warms, they appear to be getting closer to opening the fantastic outdoor pool/jacuzzi. There are also 2 separate patio areas with very comfortable chairs for enjoying afternoons and nights. We had a massive 2-Bedroom/2-Bath Suite on the top/5th floor with screened windows that open for a breeze and glorious evening views all around the property nestled amongst trees. Right across the street is everything you could want: Target, Harris Teeter, Jersey Mike’s, Sally Beauty, Ulta, a Regal movie multiplex, Chick-Filet, Starbucks and many more eateries. You can walk forever in almost any direction, but there is also a good-sized fitness room with free weights, machines, lots of towels, even a scale. You will really enjoy breakfast: cage-free scrambled eggs every day as well as an ever-changing variety of additional egg sandwiches, plus individual milk cartons (fat free, 2%), bagels/breads, bananas and yogurts (some also fat free). Laundry facilities on the 2nd and 4th floors (1.75 wash/1.50 dry). No ice machine but just ask one of the very, very friendly breakfast ladies (like Divya, who is so nice to everyone) and they will oblige you with a smile. All in all, a fantastic stay. It always is. Stayed here for one night whilst stuck in Charlotte. This was a surprisingly great find! The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Super comfortable and the room was clean. Service late at night was efficient and friendly. There is road noise from the highway, but the in room fan can drown it out. This was a good stay.

Clean Comfy Large room w/ king bed m, sofa , desk & kitchenette Friendly staff Good location Highway noise if room facing highway I’m a light sleeper but noise didn’t bother me. I sleep with a desk fan on. I travel with one. Breakfast including hot buffet.

We were here 2 years ago and returned to all the things we loved before all over again: hot scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurts, little milk cartons (even fat free) and the nicest breakfast ladies who treat you like a guest in their home… fitness center with free weights and mats… outdoor pool and jacuzzi (although right now closed for the season)… friendly housekeepers who give you everything you need… screened windows that open for a breeze… a quiet location, but light out in several directions for wonderful long walks (including right across the street to a Harris Teeter, Target and movie theaters). See you next time for sure!

The people here are wonderful but the main purpose of a hotel room is to sleep. They actually scheduled a tractor trailer delivery from their food service at 3:00AM THE TRUCK WAS BEEPING AND CLANGING NOISE OF A PALLET JACK AND A BERPING TAILGATE FOR HOURS ON A MONDAY NOGHT THIS IS JUST UNACCEPTABLE.. THE NOISE IS WORSE THSN A GARBAGE TRUCK. OMG I stayed here multiple times in the past but I am done.
