Very good location Uptown, within a very easy walk to many dining options, arena, stadium, and museums. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Room was good size and well appointed. You don't need to be a historic hotel buff to enjoy this one, but the added charm makes it even more enjoyable. Hotel of choice in Charlotte.

My husband and I were going uptown for a food tour and decided to spend the night for our anniversary. I made reservations at the Dunhill Hotel because it looked different...not a chain hotel. We had spent our wedding night in the uptown area 17 years earlier and I thought it would feel like returning to "where it all started."...

My friends and I stayed overnight in what was descrbed as a "suite" which included a complimentary breakfast. When we checked thegirl at thedesk was quite unpleasant and stated that we did not qualify for breakfast since we made the reservation through hotels.com. we proceded to the "suite" which was extremely small and crowded and when we asked for a...

Stayed here during NASCAR weekend and it was a wonderful choice! Close enough to walk to restaurants, shopping, night scene, NASCAR Hall of Fame, and the Stage for all the NASCAR festivities. The hotel staff was over the top nice and helpful. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Charlotte.

Disclaimer: Came here on a business trip so price does not factor into my review Boutique-type hotel located right in downtown (i.e. Uptown) business district. Staff was very pleasant. Arrived late and ordered room service (available until 11pm) and it was very quick and quite good (and not too pricey but I'm from New York so take that with a...

This hotel was comfortable and nice. There was construction around that was somewhat noisy and there were numerous times over the two night stay that sirens woke me up. But the location was great, the rooms were nice size, the staff was very helpful and friendly. The bar downstairs was real close and open to the registration desk which was...

This is a very nice historic hotel but in the wrong location. Nice room on 5th floor, but on the street. And you hear EVERYTHING all night. Too bad because everything else was great - people, breakfast (included) and room. Just the location. Maybe they should consider sound proofing.

This was a pleasant hotel in great location. The service was great, rooms were comfortable, with plenty of space. Street access to the parking lot was a little weird, but manageable. Overall it was a great stay in and a hotel I'll certainly keep on my list.

Came on a girls trip--two rooms on two different floors. Both of us had trouble with the air conditioning. We were only in town for one night, and didn't notice it until we got back to the room in the wee hours of the morning--it was stifling! The bathroom was like a sauna! When I let the front desk staff...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. I sincerely apologize for the temperature of your rooms. We strive to provide excellent service and were disappointed to hear that the issue was not handled with care and concern. Both of these issues are being addressed. I have just sent a direct message to you in the hopes of following-up more personally....

This was one of the best experiences I've ever had in a hotel. Everybody working there, from the desk people, bartenders, wait staff, and housekeeping were so nice. The location is perfect, walking distance to restaurants, bars, museums and shopping. The food in the restaurant was delicious. We only live an hour away, but we would stay here again, if...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Decades before The Dunhill Hotel would open, local architect Louis Asbury Sr. was entranced by the great Italian craftsmen who created cathedrals famous for their soaring, elegant roof lines. Today, The Dunhill Hotel stands distinct on the Charlotte skyline, an amalgam of American, British, and Italian influences, something those with an eye for period detail can detect. Opened in 1929 as the Mayfair Manor apartment hotel, with half of its original 100 rooms permanent residences, today's Dunhill Hotel is a thoughtful evolution. A full restoration was recently completed, and various on-going aesthetic improvements all share a common goal--to celebrate the original vision of Mr. Asbury, with a nod to the needs of the modern traveler. ... more   less
