I was impressed. A quiet hotel, very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was typical of a Fairfield. Large seating area. Tons of parking. Pool warm but small. Quiet town compared to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Just a few minutes from south east entrance to Great Smokey Mountains National Park. Lightning bugs out behind building
Im very disappointed with this hotel. Rooms are small and it feels more like a econolodge that a marriott hotel. I always stay at Marriott and this is my first ever review that wasnt 5 stars. All the employees were great and they fixed our broken refrigerator promptly and brought us towels. But the beds were awful. We all woke up in pain. Even my 30 year old daughter. Usually mattresses are so comfortable at Marriott hotels but these ones were the worst cheapest mattresses ever. Another thing was we found used towels and wash cloths in the shower. Must of been left by last customers.?
I expected a little bit more from a Fairfield. The Pros: clean, comfortable bed, great location. The Cons: extremely plain. No frills, didn’t feel warm or homey at all. Felt like a hospital. The breakfast area was very disorganized and the food was slightly warm, at best. It was great for just one night across from the casino but wouldn’t pick this place for a longer stay.
Came here for a short 2 day trip to Cherokee. Soon as we got into our room we were hit with the smell of burning marijuana. We went back to the desk and got a different room. Once in room number 2, we turned on the TV in the living room area and the TV in the bedroom also turned on. Both remotes operated both TVs and the areas were only separated with a half wall. We had to unplug one TV while watching the other. After going out to the casino and to dinner we returned to a room that smelled like marijuana again. The front desk said they had multiple complaints but didn’t know where it was coming from. The next morning we went down for breakfast only to find they had already put it all away prior to the time we were told breakfast ended the day before. We were not the only ones there trying to get food, another couple came down to eat as well. According to the front desk attendant we were not the only ones to come looking for food after it closed. It seams the front desk attendant the day before told everyone breakfast ended an hour after they actually start putting it away. We went out for breakfast and returned to a room that smelled like marijuana again. We talked to the front desk again, they still didn’t know where it was coming from so I told them we would be leaving a day early. We packed up our stuff and checked out.…
Recently stayed at the hotel and the staff was very nice and friendly, Furniture and decor is limited, but during these times is understandable. The only issue we had with our wheelchair accessible room is the height of the beds. They are low! Mattress is placed directly on a wood platform and not more than a foot off the floor! This arrangement makes it hard for wheelchair users to transfer in and out of bed. Bathroom was good and everything was at proper height, except for the shower chair with a missing part that made balancing difficult.
Nice hotel located across from Harrah’s Casino. 10 minutes to Blue Ridge Parkway and Oconoluftee Visitor Center. Many restaurants and shops within 10 minutes as well. Good service and free breakfast. We would stay here again, but it wasn’t my favorite location.
Only in town for 1 night, but the GM Sandra Franks made us feel like we were part of her family! She went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. She and her staff greeted us with smiles and kind words every time we saw them. The hotel and our room were SUPER clean and had gone through a remodel since our last visit over 2 years ago. We will certainly stay here again...oh, and it's directly across the street from the casino!
Great rooms, reasonable rate. Friendly front desk and food. Walking distance to Casino. Clean and nice ambiance. Large rooms, quiet a/c. Free parking. Pool small, gym was not open. Staff was masked. Breakfast was fine and they will cook a hot breakfast as well.
I’ve stayed in the property for several days in a recent trip the Great Smokies National Park. Having driven through Gatlinburg once in this trip, my decision to stay in the North Carolina side of the park had proven to be a smart one, as traffic was much more manageable (or really hardly a problem). The hotel is situated close to the Casino, about 10 minutes drive from the park. Just next door there is a gas station. Food establishments are easy 5 minutes drive from the hotel. The hotel is fairly standard Fairfield affair. Platinum status was recognized, and upgrade was proactively offered. Not the best available suite of the hotel, but still one of the few times that I had not have to ask for it. The room itself was large and specious with the normal amenities as expected. No house keeping at the time of COVID. Breakfast is self-serve for packaged food with the ability to ask for hot items from the server. Sadly, mask mandates were not really enforced in the hotel. Couple of point to consider – the suites have only one windows at the bedroom end of the room, making the “living room” extremely dark. Strange choice in my opinion. The other point, DO NOT get a room over the patio. The windows are not sound proof and when people talk (even in normal voice) one can hear everything – that made my nights very hard as people congregate outside until 10 or 11 PM and as the window is right at the bed one could hear everything.…
This place was actually great for a night and looked recently renovated. But the best thing was hot breakfast. Well it was just eggs and sausage but considering how other Fairfield inn I have been too was basic continental, I was ok with this. Better than ok. Besides the fact there was a rude neighbor blasting the TV at 3am, it was an enjoyable night. And yes staff was awesome.
