I stayed at the pond house for two days and it is an amazing and beautiful place, the gardens and the outside of the house are breath taking.the owner was very engaging without being overly talkative like some of other B&Bs Great full breakfast served at...More
I'm not usually one to post a negative review. We are a pretty easy-going couple, but I thought our experience was worth sharing. I picked the Pond House because we wanted 1) a bed and breakfast and 2) something close to the water. The location...More

We do appreciate all the lovely things said about our inn, but it is always helpful if a guest tells us their problem when they are here. We are on the water, and I can only think the guest is reacting to the moisture in...More
We spent Saturday night here and had a wonderful visit. Absolutely everything was charming. The owner-innkeeper Martha Johnson was so gracious. We had the Goldenrod Room, great bed, comfortable and peaceful. Our view of the river was wonderful. I couldn't resist wandering all over the...More

Dear Hotel Staff,
I'm concerned about the petroleum smell mentioned by two (review dates 9/3/14 & 2/25/13) of your guests. Are you all aware of it and have you been able to resolve it? Your reviews in general are amazing and we very much want to stay there, but I wanted to find out a little about this as my wife can be a little sensitive to petroleum/chemical type odors.
Thanks in advance for your response! :)

We try very hard to resolve all issues guests disclose to us. Unfortunately, neither of these guests approached us with a problem--they only complained after they left, which gives us no opportunity to satisfactorily resolve the issue. One winter guest was apparently sensitive to a propane gas fireplace in the library. Had we known of their sensitivity, we would have turned off the fireplace. The other guest, who also did not bring their issue to us, apparently reacted to a routine pest control spray outside the house. Had they notified us of their problem, we would have offered them another room, but they did not bring their complaint to our attention. We do not use any petroleum products anywhere in the house.
