The room had a homey feel to it. There was a balcony where I could sit, relax and enjoy the view of the ocean. It would definitely be a great "getaway" place to stay on Hatteras Island. The Breakwater Restaurant is right next door. The...More

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! It was our pleasure that you spent time with us and we hope to see you again.
The Breakwater Inn was clean & comfortable. They have excellent customer service & were very friendly. The breakfast was nice & we felt welcomed. We will recommend this hotel to others. It's the closest hotel to the ferry that goes to Ocracoke. Very convenient to...More
We have stayed at the Breakwater Inn several times and always are met with excellent customer service, easy check-in and check-out, clean rooms, and an amazing view on the balcony. We will definitely be back!

We have 1 brick building and 1 wood building. We do not have special room rates prior to a hurricane. If there is a mandatory evacuation we will not be able to rent rooms. We strongly discourage visitors until the hurricane passes. Most of our weekend guests have already cancelled and we will contact the rest. There is only one road on and off the island and it is very vulnerable to ocean and sound side flooding. Ocracoke Island, just south of us, is under mandatory evacuation for ALL residents as of 5 AM this morning..
