From the moment we stepped out of the car, I could not stop staring at the lovely grounds of this beautiful place! Walking inside was like taking a step back in time with all the antique decorations, furniture and family photos hung on the wall! If that wasn't enough, Miss Nancy was a very pleasant woman with a wealth of...

Aside from the grounds and house being just breath taking, the REAL gem of this place is Miss Nancy! Not only is she the sweetest woman, who exudes southern hospitality, she is a walking history book of the Perquimans and surrounding areas! (She wrote a beautiful book called "The Sandy Dunes" about the OBX and its resident's origins as well...

We met the sweetest inn keeper, Nancy. She is a history book in the making. She certainly knows how to make you welcome. If you love history of N.C. then this is the place to go. The house has been in her family for many years. She has pictures of her family everywhere. You can tell she loves life to...

We should have had more time. The house is full of history and has a great atmosphere, like a welcomed step back in time with style and grace. The owner can tell you all about the fascinating history. If you wish you can kayak on the river or relax on the porch. Please continue this great tradition but you need...

Walking into 1812 on the Perquimans is like walking into a different era. The house has been in the same family since it was built in 1812 and it retains much of the original character (and furniture). The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable but what really makes a stay special is the hospitality. We were sadly unable to meet...

This B & B is the most wonderful spot in a country setting. The old farm house is just fabulous, with antiques everywhere and family portraits and photos all over. The hosts, Nancy and Pete ,are the true meaning of Southerners, with the best southern hospitality you can imagine. We had a great time! They have bikes to ride down...

Most interesting home. No better breakfast anywhere. Fascinating hosts. Fastidious housekeeping is not here.

We had our wedding reception there, and several of our guests stayed there. The owners, Peter and Nancy Rascoe are great. If you've never spent much time with a real southern lady, you must stay here. She really know her local history, too. Rates reasonable $80-$110, excellent southern breakfast (pickled herring and fried green tomatoes), plus access to the river....
