Please note that this is now a private home and no longer available for reservations. I called the owner personally; it is confusing because they are still listed on Trip Advisor. Their website also explains they are closed.

This is not your typical Bed & Breakfast. It is not filled with antiques in an old part of town. It is a Spa-like retreat, nestled deep into the woods. It is a great location for some quiet time away from the everyday rush. It is not too far from Dillard, GA, Franklin, NC or highlands, NC. The closest attraction... More

My wife and I visited this charming inn in mid October. We enjoyed the ambience and peace of the place, and our time flew by in a flash. This inn is just a few minutes from Highlands, which is quite a charming little town, and there are quite a few options as far as hikes and waterfalls go, but my... More

My wife and I stayed here for the weekend of Dec 6-7. The hosts Joel and Lacy could not have been more accommodating. The rooms were spacious, maybe 7700 sq ft. The most amazing thing was the shower. It was a steam shower and was awesome. Cannot think of one bad thing to say about our stay. And we were... More

We have gone to Mountain Laurel twice now and have had the most wonderful experience. The rooms are huge and decorated beautifully. There is a table and chairs for snacks or reading, a sofa before the fireplace and a balcony that feels like you are in the trees and with the sound of the brook is a marvelous place to... More

My wife and I spent a night at MLR and were very impressed with how well appointed the décor is at the place. Also spotless and clean as a pin. It's a little out of the way and it is VERY quiet there.

My husband and I were planing our first anniversary trip and planned to see family and friends for the first half of the trip, then find a nice getaway the second half. I knew of Mountain Laurel Rest because friends of mine were managing it, so we decided to check it out. The location is absolutely stunning. It's a ways... More

If a nice homemade breakfast is an important part of your B&B experience, don't go here. The young manager told us that the previous managers left due to burnout, and the owners of the inn decided to cut back service drastically and they now offer a self-serve "continental" breakfast similar to what you might find at a motel. (It was... More

This property, set back in the middle of the woods, is really beautiful. The building is new and modern, and beautifully landscaped to blend with the forest. Rooms are very spacious with lots of windows. Great shower with steam feature. Hosts join guests for Happy Hour with good wine and tasty snacks. Very warm and friendly atmosphere. Breakfasts were delicious.... More

What a great find! Beautiful big rooms, clean, wonderful showers, fantastic breakfast. This place is a real gem. We stayed 2 nights and were sad to leave. Not your average bed & breakfast, more like a tiny hotel. Very easy drive from downtown Highlands. We loved it and hope to return someday!
