spur of moment get a way, late arrival in Highlands, fireplace sputtered, remote control inoperative, outside light blinked on and off, no breakfast not even coffee, desk clerk sick, maintenance man in charge not able to check out, even off season, this was terrible. Beautiful property, great antiques, lots of blown trash. A disappointment, But, town was absolutely beautiful and the...

The staff is very friendly and showed us the different types of rooms before we checked in. The lodge is older, but we'll maintained. We had a light breakfast each morning until 9:30. You can walk to the shops, food and parade from here with side walks. Check out The Ugly dog, The Mountain Wine Shoppe and The Sports Page....

Great place to stay in Highlands North Carolina. Location is perfect. Lodging is very comfortable and quaint. Love it! Bed extremely comfortable. Staff is very friendly. Great atmosphere during the Thanksgiving holidays.

Stayed here to visit friends and to escape the August heat in Florida. This is a well maintained piece of property. Great lobby with some nice antiques (or reproductions). Loved the gas fired fireplace in our room. Yes, I did light it to see if it worked, and it did. Enjoyed the balcony outside our room. Breakfast was pretty slim...

The room was solid; tidy and clean though very slightly in need of paint and touch ups, hard floors (a major plus!), easy access to main street (walkable if you choose), and the best part--it's dog friendly! There are only a few rooms which allow dogs, and I was pleasantly surprised to find ours like no dog had been there....

For those who may not know, this was a Hilton property prior to being taken private. Can't remember which brand of Hilton, but rooms are standard Hilton style rooms. Fireplace room are larger and a fireplace in Highlands is recommended any time of year. At 4118 feet, summer nights can be chilly ... I have stayed here many time prior...

We love Highlands and have been going there for several years as often as we can. This was a very excellent inn. The staff was extremely friendly, the grounds are beautiful, very comforting to walk around.

This lodge is just a little off the beaten path. It is quiet and peaceful. The lobby is furnished with some awesome antiques but you won't find it stuffy. We found the outdoor fireplace and wanted to start a fire...the desk clerk found some old matches and said go for it. So we did and it was a delightful evening....

We were passing through Highlands and stopped for the night. Just needed a decent place to crash and shower, but was very surprised. This place is beautiful. It was clean and the staff was awesome. The front desk clerk spent time helping find fun things for my teenagers to do. She even printed directions to several places for us. The...

Patio rooms force you to wake up with sun. But the suites have sleeper sofas so an extra child has somewhere to sleep. The tubs are huge and my two year old loved it. Breakfast has cows milk and cereal, bagels, muffins, frozen sausage sandwiches, juice, ok coffee, waffles, fruit. Fine place to stay in Highlands. Across the street from...
