My husband gave me two nights for a Christmas present. I came here as a child in the 60s and thought the nostalgia would be great. From the time we walked in and were greeted by Cheryl, we felt right at home. In fact, we loved it so we stayed an extra night. The innkeeper Kanda and her assistant Cheryl...

I really liked this place - how nice it was to get away from the standard chain hotel room for a change. We had one of the third floor rooms (maybe one of the cheapest?) and it had two dormer windows looking out towards the ocean, it was so quiet and white and clean. The bathroom was small but totally...

I always appreciate it when a guest mentions how friendly the staff at First Colony Inn was. We all want every guest to feel comfortable and welcome. We truly love the inn and what we do and hope that shows. Thank you for your review. We know that many people make decisions on where to stay based on others comments,...

We were about the only guests in the Inn during December. Our room was large and very nice, including a large bathroom with heated towel racks! Breakfast was okay, with not too many options, but it was off season after all. It's only a few steps from the beach, so that would be a plus during beach season.

Things really slow down on the Outer Banks starting in mid-November, and many feel it is a really great time to be here; no crowds! Thank you for staying with us and please come back.

We stayed off season at the First Colony Inn and it was well worth it! The inn is so quaint and charming with plenty of ambience! Our room had many steps up to it on the 3rd floor corner but it was worth every step! We had a large charming room #20 with a very comfortable king-size rice poster bed,...

I loved this quaint bed and breakfast. The breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed the afternoon happy hour with wine and snacks. The staff was friendly. I was a little disappointed with the comfort of the beds but overall the room was nice...especially the heated towel bar. I would stay again.

A belated Happy Anniversary and thank you for choosing to spend your special day at First Colony Inn. I hope you mentioned the bed when you checked out, or filled in the comment card. We do need feedback of all kinds so we can make sure our service and our rooms are what they should be. Thank you again.

Enjoyed our 3 night stay in this historic building in Nags Head, NC. A bit rustic, but clean, comfortable, good food (breakfast) and very friendly staff. If you stay on 2nd or 3rd floor, be mindful that footsteps transmit to lower floors. Easy beach access and lots of amenities.

Charm, with a home-like comfort, fresh breakfast, social 'hour' with wine and appetizers if you're there on a rainy afternoon. Friendly hosts, still carrying on the tradition of Camille, who owned and ran this inn at Nags Head for many years. Rooms are clean w/ no smells. Corner rooms on the 2nd and 1st floors have lots of air. We...

Old but beautifully maintained inn with great breakfasts, comfy beds, oozing charm and providing rest and relaxation....a step back in time with modern conveniences...highly recommend! Steps from the beach for added ambience.

Checked in on a Thursday for a 2 night stay with another couple. We had adjoining rooms which had a good sized bathroom, queen bed, small (25 inch) tv, desk and armoir. Breakfast was buffet-style. The first morning we had shrimp quiche with biscuits, muffins, toast, bacon and sausage. There is a wine hour each day from 3-5pm with wine...
