Our experience was amazing! This family owned business is family. The rooms all have the beach decor. Very clean. Short walk to the beach, the beach is beautiful. The pool was great after a day at the beach! This is our 3rd stay here. Planning on going again next year.

My Wife was searching for a last minute Father's Day weekend trip to the area and ran across this motel. We have driven by it many, many times and never gave it a thought. The pics of the rooms looked good, and the price was reasonable, so we took a chance. Glad we did. The room was nicely remodeled and very clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. We will be back for sure.

My husband and I stayed here this weekend. When I say the owners are friendly and go out of their way to make your stay as nice as possible… that would be an understatement. The rooms are thoroughly cleaned and if there any issues at all.. they do not hesitate to be at your door within minutes. I do believe this will be our new place to stay when we visit Oak Island. I really enjoyed this trip!

My wife and I were at Oak Island for the weekend and stayed at the Oak Island Inn. I met John & Buffy Narcice and their daughter who helps run the place. They take alot of pride in caring for this place and it really shows. Great place to stay. Highly recommend! John is a fellow alumni of Marshall University. Really enjoyed meeting and talking with him. Jeff Spaulding

A family owned and operated motel. Cozy and and very clean. Although not on the ocean it’s within walking distance so you can enjoy the spectacular sunsets or you can sit in the chairs on the porch and enjoy the company of the other guests and staff.

Me and my wife Dawn are hurricane chasers and came down from MD for the landfall of Hurricane Isaias. We stayed at the Oak Island Inn because we couldn't find anything ocean front with the storm coming. What a wonderful surprise!! Not only is this literally the CLEANEST MOTEL I'VE EVER STAYED IN but John and Savanna we're awesome!! We will be back for a vacation soon, not just for a hurricane!!

The Owners have disapeared and a new person has taken over. A bit cold reception and doesn't know how things work. It s a shame that a compromised property is now reduced to a lower level of service. I wish it was the same.

My friend and I were on a road trip and I can't say enough good things about our experience here. We called last minute around 8 am and by the time we arrived about 2 hours later they had a room ready for us and we were checked in. It's a charming little place and so CLEAN...in fact of all the places we stayed on this 10 day trip, including some big name (more expensive) hotels, this was by far the cleanest and best maintained room. Rooms have been completely updated including tile floors and fun, beach decor. I was so impressed I took some pics! Thank you John and Buffy for welcoming us into the Oak Island Inn family and helping us out with great places to eat and things to see! We will be back!!

When preparing to visit NC beaches from out of state, we canvassed NC locals who recommended Oak Island. When looking at reviews of places to stay, OII stood out with consistent comments about simple, clean, comfortable, affordable accommodations and very friendly service. As a hard-bitten business traveler I wouldn't normally consider a "motel", but this place was a real treat and lived up to its advertising and reviews. There's a short walk to a delightful family beach and a nice pool. John and Buffy take their "arrive as guests, leave as family" motto 100% seriously. The A/C units are both powerful and very quiet!
