The room smelled so bad right when we walked in that we had to go buy a candle to try and cover it up. They should change the sign out front from "Pet Friendly" to "Smells like Urine." The bedspread looked like it hadn't been cleaned since they bought it in 1984. There was a buzzing sound in the room...

My family and I have been vacationing in OBX for quite a few years now and last year was the first time we stayed overnight in Ocracoke. We stayed here last year for one night and again this year, but this time for 2 nights. We call it our "pre-vacation, vacation" before we go and stay in the rental house...

We stayed here one night on a last minute trip (mid-week, late July). Upon checking in, they gave us a free upgrade. We were in a lower floor and she gave us a room with a view and a kitchenette. It was a nice clean room. Nothing fancy but it was clean and the beds were comfy. The hotel is...

We had a 4th floor room so we had a great view of the Marina and sunsets. The rooms are good size, comfortable and clean. Parking is limited. This is a great place to stay if you are taking a charter out of the marina. Only thing it lacks is a small microwave and a mini-fridge. If they had that,...

We've stayed here about 4 times. Views are excellent, rooms are very clean and basic. Beds are very hard. The pool, and location cant be beat. Doesn't hurt to have Smacnally's across the street either. Pros totally outweigh the few cons.

My husband and I had booked a room in a surf shack on Airbnb and when we arrived it was so filthy we did not feel comfortable staying. We immediately started calling hotels and found a room at the Anchorage Inn through a miracle (it was the Fourth if July weekend). They were kind enough to give us their last...

Nothing fancy about the rooms...70's decor and basic. But you don't come to Ocracoke for the room. There is a dock out front for low key fishing, SmackNally's outdoor restaurant next door for a burger and beer. Golf cart rental for Island exploration is adjacent to the property. Best of all the sunset views from the upper floors is outstanding.

Perfect location for my first trip to Ocracoke. Enjoyed watching the fishing boats across the street come in with their catch. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The view from our balcony was beautiful. Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Will certainly stay here again next time

Called to see if a room was available and they had several. The first floor is for pets, the rooms are clean and large. We slept well but should have gotten room on a higher floor. When you open the door at nights the mosquitoes come into the room.

I like this inn as it has an elevator- the only one on the island. The first floor is pet friendly. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We like the third floor as it has a great view of the harbor and tends to be quieter than other floors. Rooms are clean and well tended.
