The park itself is beautiful, lots of trees. Pretty roads to explore, but was disappointed in the famous monument etched into the mountain. There is no real place to view it well, It's obscured by tall trees, and you can only see it well if you pay $12 a person to take a gondola ride. Not what I expected.

Fly fishing and hiking while staying in a clean, quiet and well maintained campground. Can't beat it! We hiked down to the bottom of the falls to top of Wolf and Cedar ridge then up across Stone Mountain ... done in a single hike ... not recommend if your not in very good shape. Fished for brook trout in the...

Must say I was impressed security waa everywhere directing traffic and checking bags. They had smiles and did their jobs well. The price for parking was very reasonable for the venue as well as the good cart and goodie carts had good prices not cheap but not over the top either. The area was clean and well lit. We very...

Stone Mountain State Park is an excellent choice for a day out in nature with the family. Seeing Stone Mountain either from on top and below is compelling and the waterfall is beautiful (but there are a lot of steps if you are going up that way). It does get busy on summer weekends though. The hiking is worth it....

We stopped here for the night and were very impressed with the size and positions of the campsites. The woman who checked us in was very nice and the camping fee was very low for having full hookups. Each site seem to have a fire ring so we bought a bundle of wood there and had a very nice fire...

We camp here several times a year, tent camp and trailer camp. We love it all. All three loops are well maintained, clean and the hosts are always so nice. The hiking is beautiful and trails are well maintained. There is a great restaurant/store down the street that we love to visit for burgers and ice cream after a long...

I have to say it is a magnificent site....I have been many times and it is something that everyone should see at least once.. Go during the off season, because it can become super busy. Traffic is a major issue around July.

The family decided to go camping for New Years Eve and decided on Stone Mountain State Park due to the campsites having electricity and water and the First Day hike sponsored by the rangers. We were very pleased with our choice. The campground was clean, well laid out, and easy to access with our popup. The sites varied in size...

We went during the holidays and really enjoyed ourselves. The park was beautifully decorated and the shows were great. The snow angel show with the falling snow was awesome. My 2 year old had such a great time
