Hotel's Favourite
We stopped in the main hotel, they do have apartments. The room was clean, with enough room. Water was supplied (sparkling and still)). The views from our balcony were fantastic, our room look out from the front of the hotel. We really liked the food, you mostly helped yourself and like our room the views were fantastic. If you plan to visit the Zugspitze, get your ticket on the day from them, the same price as the official website but you can be more sure of the weather. We got trapped for a couple of hours on the top by thunderstorms (the cable cars stop). Having got your ticket a lovely 10-15min walk to the cog rail station to Zugspitze. Your choice how you go up, as we were on the train we took it to the top and then cable car down. During busy periods we would recommend you take the cable car up and if you want the cog train down.

Excellent, excellent stay ! Great service, fabulous breakfast and dinner (don’t miss this!). Very clean with a spotless spa experience. Two of our days in the region were rained out and we could not have been happier with the days since we took enough time for using the hotel amenities. We definitely will be back.

It’s a most idyllic location just 15 mins from Garmisch. We were there because we booked a alpaca tour on Sunday. We started the weekend with a hike around the Eibsee. It's also just ~3km away. Friendly staff. Dinner was good. Great breakfast.

My wife and I travel a few times a year for business. We were delighted to stay here. This was our vacation and we love the scenery the tranquility and the location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The amenities were great. The spa was clean and what you expect from an excellent hotel. It is obvious you are in Germany but most of the staff speak fair to good English. The food in the restaurant was very good and theere were good choices and varieties to choose from. Our primary focus was to visit Christmas Markets in Bavaria. Then to relax during and after Christmas. I highly recommend this hotel for a getaway.

It’s a most idyllic location just 15 mins from Garmisch. We had a lovely room lake view with balcony looking to the mountains- so perfect for 4 nights. Only let down is they don’t really cater for English speaking not even many of the reception staff, we had many difficulties being understood and in the restaurant. We had all our meals here as they are so good as was breakfast buffet. Room has good bed, facilities and block out curtains. Most enjoyable stay.

We had a lake view room and it was ridic. Never had a better view from a hotel room. Breakfast was great too. Biggest plus was the “Wellness Centre”. So so good. Two types of saunas, a snow room, and very tranquil. Oh and the sauna has an amazing view of the mountain! Would go back just for the sauna facilities. Spenno, but worth it. Not worth it if you don’t use the facilities though!

The hotel itself it’s very modern and cozy. Our room was huge and the bathroom was very clean. Although they follow very strict times to meals, we had an amazing breakfast viewing the Alps. You can ask for a room with that view too, which will turn your stay more charming.

If you want peace and quiet with beautiful views of mountains, trees and a lake then this is the place. The staff in restaurant and bar were exceptional, friendly and professional. The food a breakfast has enough choice to make it worthwhile and the bar at night is relaxing. Insgesamt wir lieben alles über dieses Hotel und wir werden wieder zuruckkommen

... I have ever been. The hotel is located next to the small, but super beautiful Badersee. We had a superior room with balcony with a view over the lake and to the mountains. It was like in a 60’s Heimatfilm, extremely beautiful. The rooms are super spacious, clean and comfortable. Check-in and check-out was fast and the staff is very friendly, helpful and helps and explains many options for short trips around the area. The breakfast buffet contains a lot of local delicacies. Also the all day restaurant cooks a very delicious food and uses local ingredients and food. I wish I can come back. The hotel is so spacious and comfortable.

We loved everything about our visit to Grainau, except for one thing. The walk around the lake was beautiful. Fish everywhere. It was fun to feed them too. There were trails all around so a nice walk each morning to start our day was perfect. The people friendly, service great. Balcony off rooms a plus. Nice spa/sauna access. My sister enjoyed a massage. Late night bar with lots of social activities, after a wonderful dinner. We hope to come back and bring our parents. And maybe a blow up mattress? The bed was like sleeping on a camper’s kitchen table. It looked inviting but was super uncomfortable. But everything else far outweighed it. Sleep is overrated.
