We had a lovely room overlooking the Elbe. The air conditioning did not seem to work so we had to sleep with the windows open, and the trains on the far riverbank can be deafening but we slept OK. The spa in the hotel was great for refreshing us after a hard day pounding the Malerweg. The German predilection for...

It is an unusually well designed newly furbished hotel in this remote area of Saxony. But it lacks local touch and needs more attention to detail: the wifi system is slow and keeps kicking you out all the time. The beds are ok - nothing more, the pillows are too soft for my taste(but you may order a stiffer addition...

We had not made any reservation but staff was helpful and found us a room despite full hotel. Room was a bit small and expensive. Bad Wifi. Sauna and swimming pool were perfect especially since we had long walks in the Saxonian Alps and could relax here afterwards. Bartenders were very slow in getting your drinks and check, not a...

We booked another hotel in Bad Schandau on a Friday night of Sep., but our room was give to somebody else because of our late arrival. Then we asked 5 hotels and they were no vacancy. Finally found this one, the best one in town. The staffs were excellent, since they were trying their best to help us. The room...

We spent five days there, and really enjoyed the location, the small town, the hotel and the nearby sights. The. Food in all restaurants was excellent. The rooms were clean, neat, with good facilities. The walks and every imaginable form of transportation are fascinating.

I have returned to Bad Schandau again in July and despite the bad weather we had excellent stay. We have been reserved in family room, which has one bed room and adjoining room, perfect for children. The only suggestion would be to have the bed mattress firmer... Othewise excellent as always.

During our visit we found the staff extremely friendly and helpful, the pool and spa marvellous, the buffet breakfast lovely and the location perfect. We felt it was a bit overpriced taking into account the additional charge for parking and balcony and tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have been good. But overall a superb hotel in...

I have only stayed at the Elbresidenz for one night, but I also got a chance to experience their spa treatments and one of the restaurants. I agree with the others who mentioned excellent value for the money. Great location, good spa, impressive breakfast and excellent reception staff. The hotel is run like a 5* establishment with corresponding amenities and...

Though the Elbresidenz does not merit its own five star billing, it is, nevertheless , a very good hotel, providing excellent value for money (so long as you do not buy drinks etc in the room). The staff are splendid, most of the receptionists having excellent English and being only too happy to provide advice and assistance, including excellent recommendations...

We spent 4 nights at the Elbresidenz and would have loved to stay for longer- it was just so good. It is huge but the staff and their friendly and helpful manner make it feel so intimate . The front of house staff are very professional but always welcome you with a smile and are keen to make your stay...
