We stayed 5 nights at La Gancia. The hotel is a great base for going to the Egadi islands and nearby beaches during the day and enjoying the old town in the evening. Our room was large, air conditioned and had a seaside view. You can actually swim in that town beach on a nice day when the water is clear! Sometimes it was windy and not able to swim.

Breakfast on the rooftop is nice and service is friendly. With COVID, the kind waitress will take your buffet order on paper and send to your table. So many restaurants in the area, you are spoilt for choice.

The nearest car park is a 8 min walk. Walk inside Via Garibaldi street not on the sea street to protect from the sun.

We had a nice big room that came with a small kitchen area, just a microwave basically. The issue with the room was the lack of sockets to charge the various electronic devices we all have now. There were just 2 sockets in the room and that includes the one the kettle plugs into! The aircon didn't do much either, this wasn't a problem in May but could be an issue in July.
The staff were very helpful and would book restaurants etc. The best (cheapest) car parking is a 10 minute walk away where you can park all day for very little.
Location wise the hotel is perfect.

We stayed two nights here and would have stayed more if we knew how much we would enjoy it! We parked our car just down the road along the beach for a very reasonable rate. Staff were very helpful. Room was comfortable - ask for an ocean view. Breakfast and cocktails were served on the fourth floor terrace, some of which is inside if the sun is too intense. Trapani is a very charming town with lots of side trips also available. We would definitely return here.

I reserved 12 rooms at La Gancia for my group of 16 artists. All I can say is that it was so good, I had not one complaint from my group. If you've ever organized trips for groups, you know how rare it would be not to have at least one complaint! I must have passed 100 emails to Rosanna in the months leading up to our stay. And her smiling face was the first thing I saw when we checked in - she came out to our van and we had a big hug. Not all the rooms are the same, but as one reviewer stated - it doesn't matter what view you have because all you have to do is go up to the rooftop bar/lounge and see as far as the eye can see. Rosanna, Claudia and Aurora were all so helpful and all spoke English well enough. Plenty of great restaurants nearby, swimming within 100 yards of the front door. And the water temperature was comfortable and the colors of the water were mesmerizing.
Breakfasts were filled with all kinds of great choices, the showers were the best, beds comfy and WiFi strong. Not sure what else I can say

This hotel has a lot going for it. It's in a beautiful position overlooking the sea on a quiet, traffic-free path to the left and the sea-front road to the right. I stayed for four nights with my wife and son in a triple room which was comfortable, spacious, spotlessly clean and everything worked well. The staff were all particularly friendly and happy to offer practical advice on things to do, and even where to get a Covid test in Trapani, which wasn't easy. Seeing as everything in life can always be improved, if I had to find one thing it might be the breakfast. In itself it was very good, fresh and tasty, and served on a lovely fourth floor terrace with great views. But the items on offer were the same every day. Just changing those cakes or pastries, or the types of cereal, fruit, yoghurt or scrambled egg occasionally would be a good innovation. Everything is also cleared away at 10, which I think is a little bit early for a classy hotel. A lie-in is nice on holiday and I think 10:30 or 11 is more reasonable. But these are minor considerations. It's a great hotel with great people and I thoroughly recommend it.

Good location in Trapani, big parking was available only few hundred meters away, so we always found a spot. Breakfast was good served on the top floor terrace with nice view over the sea. There is a beach near the hotel, but we did not use it. The shower door leaked and made water of the floor. The hotel reception was very good, friendly, helped us with lots of information on the parking and tips about visiting Erice.

This was our last stop on a 13 night drive around the island and we could not have been happier. Because we were low season and the price was reasonable we booked the junior suite with sea view the on the 4th floor. It was amazing and had lovely windows and two patios! Breakfast is served on the 4th floor as well and it is lovely.
The hotel is perfectly located. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We left our car for two nights in the Piazza Vittorio Emanuele Parking lot and it cost only 4.90e. Be sure to download and use the EasyPark app. It was an easy 10 minute walk to the hotel. We really enjoyed Trapani and highly recommend this hotel.

La Gancia is a hotel overlooking the water in Trapani. The TA reviews were very positive, but when I called to reserve they were full. They suggested the Gaura Apartments, which they operate next door. We booked 2 apartments, one being the penthouse. Both apartments had balconies overlooking the sea. The penthouse had an additional one with a dramatic view of the duomo. The apartments were very clean and large with a separate sleeping area apart from the living room. The doors to the balconies can be fully opened and the sea sits just below your window.
The staff at La Gancia provide the same concierge services as the hotel.
I have never been greeted by a more helpful and cheerful staff. A special call out to Claudia,Aurora, and Andria who helped us with anything we needed or had difficulty with.
I want to add that I found the travel guidebooks I used did a disservice to the city of Trapani. The old city is charming ,and the port to the islands is very close to the hotel and apartments. Erice, accessed from a cable car ride on the edge of town was absolutely magical and one could easily spend a full day there. We had only booked 2 nights in Trapani and left sooner than we would have wished. Consider this location as a base to the towns on the west coast of Sicily.

Andrea ran out to our car when we pulled over in a small paved area honoring the first fish market in Trapani. He quickly got our bags out and showed my husband the way to a parking lot that's convenient and cheap -- if you have the Easy Park app on your phone. We checked in quickly and set out to explore Trapani. Andrea and the front desk staff advised us on restaurants and gave us directions for driving up to Erice. Best Part: Breakfast on the roof terrace. Cakes and pastries, cheeses and meats, cappuccino to order. The room, also, was modern, clean, and usable.

My parents stayed at this hotel 5 years ago & when I told them I would be visiting Trapani they suggested I book our stay at La Gancia. Good call!

We arrived to find a friendly, helpful staff, clean, efficient, well air conditioned room and woke up the following morning to a perfect Italian breakfast on a rooftop with serene, beautiful views.
I cannot write this review without thanking GianLuca and Claudia for their tireless efforts in trying to help us. My medication was left in a car and they did they all they could to help us track it down and retrieve it - not a small feat! I missed a few doses, but thanks to their help we got the meds back and were able to enjoy the rest of our trip. Thank you both so much for all you did - your kindness will never be forgotten
We would stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat.

We plan on arriving by car. Do you have car parking available? Do we need to book this in advance?
Answer from la_gancia
About parking: It is possible to stop the car in front of the Residence door for a while to unload the luggage, then you have to park. There are two parking places nearby: in Lungomare Dante Alighieri there is a public pay parking with blu lines, € 0,80 per hour (max. € 11,00 per day) in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, 500 metres further, there is a free public parking with white lines There is a monitored parking lot, 2 km far, for € 10 per day. A free transfer is available from the parking to the port that is 500 metres far from La Gancia. If you want to arrange this service please inform us in advance.
Answer from la_gancia
