I am absolutely in love with these gorgeous Miners Cottages. They are full of historical charm but with all the modern updates including the bathroom, kitchenette and the carpets had just been replaced. It was clean, tidy, very quiet - and the bed was ridiculously comfortable. We were given 2 adjacent rooms which had an internal door which meant we...

Stayed in a cottage with friends and had plenty of room for the 3 of us. Each bedroom had 3 separate beds so we could spread out. Found the local pool 5 minutes walk away which is great to escape the summer heat and then enjoy the air conditioning in the cottages when you return.

Cottage 26 is ideal size for single traveller. 2 rooms, nice linen, high ceilings and utter peace and quiet. When built in mid1800s, each of 31 adjoined cottages housed an average of 5 people! And no bathrooms built on in those days. Everything works. Basic but practical. Wonderfully soundproof stone walls.

We stayed in these cottages when our children were young some 30 years ago and came back with them and grandchild for a trip down memory lane. Still really cute but cold although the heater worked very well...just a shame the log fires have been replaced. I had booked 2 cottages a couple of months beforehand wanting the ones by...

Love these little cottages. Pity they painted the stone but i understand why. The now white interior and a modern touch of flat screen tv, gives something for every traveller. Neat, simple and tidy and able to accommodate most bedding configurations. A great base for travellers that loves to explore the area and its historical past.

The buildings are quite historic but don't be put off from that- its are well worth the stay. the building are within easy walking distance of the local hotels and main street which has interesting antique and gift stores.

I can understand why No open fires now. Maybe council could up the price on a couple and install combustion fires and wood supply and replace carpet. Better yet if it is an issue just manage the good reverse cycle system to suit. When room is warm wait till Shutter is pointing away from the couch and switch off the...

I have stayed her many times over the years but was so disappointed to find they have now banned use of the open fireplaces and installed RC air conditioners. Yes they warm the room up well but not the same atmosphere, which we were hoping for in a country weekend away. Another new thing is TVs- not really needed either....
