Had reservations for Oct 20 - 24 2016. Arrived to find a very run-down campground with sites on top of each other. It is a very back woodsy sort of place. Nothing really appealing about it. They gave us a site that we were unable to actually fit in. The person trying to help us almost crashed our truck on...

Moonshine Creek is a beautiful mountain campground where campers come to enjoy nature, it is not a resort. You do feel like you are camping in the woods and that is what is appealing to our campers. At the same time we continue to improve and update every year like our brand new bathhouse, brand new tenters bathrooms and shelters,...

We are long time tent campers. We enjoy smaller campgrounds that have sites spread out. I also love woodsy sites with shade. This weekend was the final weekend Moonshine Creek was open for the season. It was specular! The weather was perfect to view foliage. The Blue Ridge Parkway entrance is very close to campground. The site was spacious with...

Jim and Dana take so much pride in their campground and truly care about their guests. We had a wonderful 4 night stay in mid- October and were very sad to pack up and leave the mountains. This campground is exactly what we look for in a campground. It was far enough off the highway that it was very peaceful...

We started our mountain getaway in a tent on a nice little site with a campfire overlooking the stream and whole campground below. But it was cold, cold that night. The next morning we packed up to leave when a campground employee stopped to talk with me. We told him why we're leaving and he offered a camping cabin, complete...

Tent camped overnight with the family. We had so much fun. The campground is a little close but the tent area we stayed in was nice. We even had an overhead shelter that you could put a small tent under. There were ample number of bathrooms and they were very clean. The whole campground was very clean. There is a...

This is a perfect campground to get away from it all! If you are looking for peace nature and tranquility your search stops here! The campground curves around a creek and most sites are wrapped in trees and the creek flows right behind your site. For tent campers they have wooden shelters on most sites to protect from the rain....

Great camp ground! Bath house is 5 stars!! Very clean, granite counter tops. Definitely not your typical bath house. Beautiful creek running through the middle with lots of spots for campers. The lots are small and tight especially for larger campers, but they will fit. Very clean and family oriented.

I almost hate to review this campground because I kind of want to keep it to myself. It is awesome. One of the best campgrounds we have ever been to. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have shower rooms and restrooms, very neat and clean. We tent camp and those sites are great. The RV sites look wonderful too....

This location is beautiful and the bathhouse is exceptional. However, the owners were rude to us and our 77 year old mother on more than one occasion. The added charges, including the poor cable service, for example, really add up, making this a facility that evidently doesn't want families. We won't give them our business again.

Jeff, Thank you for visiting Moonshine Creek and your nice comments on how beautiful our campground and facilities are. It is important that our campers follow certain rules for your safety and enjoyment. When I spoke to your mother she was trying to pry open one of our electric boxes. Having concern for her safety I asked her to please...

Our 1st visit to Moonshine Creek & will not be the last. My wife & 2 grandchildren and I stayed in the Rustic Cabin. It is located right beside the most impressive bath house we've ever seen. The 'Tadg-ma-toilet' is all brand new. The brook is very nice running through the center of the campground. There's a small play area...
