We love the atmosphere here. So laid back, very friendly and helpful staff. We have tent camped and stayed in a cabin here a few times. We have found our favorite place to go camping. It's not to far from the Smokey Mountain National Park and Bryson City or Cherokee NC. We love waterfalls and this area has plenty.

Camping with friends at Nelson's Hideaway was wonderful and in the perfect locations for many things to do! I stayed in a small cabin with my 2 pets--it was basic, but clean. While my friends stayed in RV spots. The campground has a site for everyone--from primitive (no water or power) tent sites, tent sites with water and power, RV...

We didn't move fast enough and were beat out of any close pet friendly airbnb type place when we needed to evacuate Charleston for hurricane Mathew. Then I remembered seeing cabins last time I visited. We were so happy that they had a cabin still available and it was perfect. Isolated, clean, electricity even a little cable TV so we...

Stayed in a hammock for one night - $7/person. They're pet friendly, sell ice and fire wood and are conveniently located about 15 min. from the NOC. The bathrooms were decent and the showers were good, too. Looking forward to returning in a few weeks!

We have been camping at Nelson's Hideaway for 5-6 years now and we started in tents and stayed across the stream across from the bathhouse. It has always been fun for us and our family and friends. We had 3-4 sites depending on how many of us went, but cooked and ate together, it was nice having the bath house....

We stayed 4 nights at nelsons campground in a tent. There were plenty of tent spaces to choose from and a bathhouse that had men and women's bathrooms and 6 total showers. The guy that greeted us was so nice and very easy going. Very friendly people and know how to show good hospitality.

This is the worst campground I have ever been to. I booked our Labor day camping trip in July. I booked a spot for my friends as well as myself. We both have 28 foot travel trailors. I called Friday afternoon to let the manager know that we would be arriving later that evening. At that time I was informed...

This is our 2nd year staying here - me, my daugher, my parents, my brother and his family (total 9 people). We love this place!! We stay in Fidely’s Log Cabin. You have to bring your own linens and towels. We cook here, have camp fires here, roast marshmellows, do sing alongs...all fun stuff!! There is a creek running thru...
