Jen & Jack, the couple that run the lodge made our stay exceptional! The food was superb - try the pulled pork - it is so tasty! After our first meal there, we didn't bother going anywhere else for food. Pizza and pasta all made in house by Jack who is from Italy! Jen made delightful citrus gelato and another...

My 3rd time this year staying at this lodge. The new hosts are great. They welcomed me as it was my own home, and the service was excellent. Jac makes the most delicious food all from scratch. I would go back to the alert bay lodge scritly for the food. The rooms are well kept, very spacious and clean. Can't...

The Lodge is probably the best place to stay. Breakfast alone is worth the visit. Rooms differ and walls are thin. So if you are a light sleeper, come prepared. The general room is totally cool and has a fireplace, comfy seating areas and a deck. I spent hours just watching the eagles and ravens. One night we gathered driftwood...

We visited in mid August, and the island was quite quiet. The welcoming atmosphere of the Alert Bay Lodge was wonderful. Ian and Sarah provided a great orientation to things to do and see in Alert Bay; their hospitality was extraordinary, personable, humourous, and very informative. Hard to believe this is their first season working their. The breakfats were absolutely...

The Lodge is a wonderful old church with amazing scenery. The common room is excellent. The breakfasts were yummy. Sarah's cinnamon bread (2014) is so good! The rooms are good and clean, and rustic but you're in Alert Bay, which is off the beaten trail. All the amenities are there. (No spa...this is not that kind of town.) Stay for...

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at this lodge. The young couple Sarah and Ian were wonderful hosts. Sarah is an excellent cook. We had three delicious suppers, two of which were vegetarian at our choice. Sarah also made us excellent cinnamon french toast with real maple syrup for breakfast, at our choice. Merja still misses the french...

We stayed in the family room which has wonderful views from the deck as well as from the room. We were warmly welcomed by our hosts, Sarah and Ian, who really made our stay feel as though we were with new friends. We walked into the beautiful main room for breakfast to fresh coffee and a lovely hot breakfast. It...

This is a wonderful place for a relaxing, peaceful long weekend. It's true that it's not sleek and modern, but it's extremely comfortable, cozy, clean and well-run. The room we stayed in was clean and well-furnished and the shower was lovely. As we were only in the bedroom at night the darkness was very welcome - best sleep I've had...
