We describe the place as spartan. It is a basic apartment with furniture and dishes. It was clean and gave us a place to stay before and after the ferry to Nova Scotia. We were expecting a b&b which it is not, but we were able to find breakfast nearby.

This place was once an important motel for transiting travellers to the island. Located near the ferr to North Sydney, Nova Scotia, this place is dated and for sale. If only staying a night and travelling thru, give it a try. No breakfast, so not really a BnB. And at $86.50, a little expensive.

The apartment was nice, very roomy and not badly equipped. The bedding definitely needs to be updated as the sheets were almost see through and very bally. The hotel is conveniently located for the ferry. There is a restaurant on site but was not open when we stayed. We were on the second floor and the noise from the floor... More

My Husband and I stayed at Shark Cove Suites in Aug for 4 nights. I could not believe how nice the place was . We stayed in numerous places on our vacation and they were very costly and terrible. This suite was wonderful and clean. Bill when out of his way to make sure we had whatever we needed daily.... More

I would to thank the staff for taking so good care of me and my husband. This is our second time staying here and anything I have asked for the Staff and Richard, they try to provide. When visiting family we have decided that we like having our own place. Two years ago we stayed in #6 and this year... More

Five of us stayed in June 2015. Shark Cove Suites is a bit of a drive across town from the ferry but shark signs point the way and they got us there OK. We liked the location, which is conveniently close to the ferry between Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. There is also a restaurant (owned by same management as Shark... More

I always thought all of the rooms in the PAB were expensive because of the inadequacies of Marine Atlantic & the number of people who get stuck there. Lo & behold, I found people saying the Shark Cove Suites were a good deal & there it was $85+tax for two bedrooms and they didn't ask how many people were coming.... More

We traveled for 2 weeks with our 2 children and 2 dogs, by the time we got to Port Aux Basque, we were sick of the attitudes and substandard rooms you are given when you travel with kids and pets. This was one of the only places that greeted us with the most amazing hospitality, while not treating us any... More

I stayed here my first night in NL and I was very impressed with both the room and food! Very large and clean for the price with fast and friendly service. The scenery right off the ferry had me glad I picked NL for my vacation! If lucky enough to return I will stay at Shark Cove Suites again without... More

We booked this room because we arrived in PAB at 6:30pm. We had hoped to cook supper in the unit but no grocery stores open in town on Saturday evening, so we ate at Tim Horton's. The place was very large, a full apartment, not just an efficiency unit. All appliances and utensils needed were there. There were only 4... More
