The Margaree chicken was about three ounces with a handful of mushrooms and a piece of puff pastry to make the plate look full. It was well cooked but we were upset about this and probably won't return. John

We stayed here for three days and for what we paid , which was way too much, we got a cabin with a poorly patched bath tub, no tv, which might have been okay it there were some decent walking trails at least, and the worst food I have ever had to endure. The horses were poorly taken care of...

We had read between the lines on previous negative reviews and decided that we might really enjoy Normaway. WE DID! The setting was glorious--the long allee in, the horses and donkey in the field across from our cabin, the quiet at night and the gorgeous starry sky. The cabins were funky--think a country version of some of the "in" cutting...

We stayed at the Normaway Inn becasue we had enjoyed the property 15 years ago. We were sad to discover that it has not been kept up-to-date as the the rooms are shabby looking. Dave, the owner, upgraded our Inn room ($129/night) to one of the newer cabins but we were still disappointed with our stay. The only saving grace...

The Normaway is a truly lovely Inn and provides a welcome respite from the hectic pace of life today. The Inn is set in a beautiful, pastoral setting with a graciousness that is surprising for a country property. But this place is special! Do not go if you will be bored by the beauty of the mist rising above the...

Twenty years ago my wife and I on a grand tour of Cape Breton Island with my island resident uncle drove down the tree lined driveway of the Normaway and fell in love with its rustic charm. Although we were staying at the family homestead, we promised ourselves to stay at the Normaway if the opportunity ever arose. During a...

We used our cabin as a base for exploring the Cabot Trail and the west coast of Cape Breton. The Margaree Valley itself is beautiful and fun to drive around. First and foremost, the staff and people around the Inn are wonderful, warm and friendly. Dave, the owner, drove to the nearby airstrip to pick us up. Our various questions...

We showed up late and were found a room. We were six people and the host was happy to bring in beds for the kids. The restaurant was so busy and we realized we could not eat for two hours due to previous reservations so we left. The owner was very sympathetic and instead of being angry suggested a restaurant...

We stayed in a very old rustic cabin--one of the originals on the property...yes it was crooked but it was roomy and clean and upon request they provided a refrigerator for us. They would have provided a microwave had we asked. It was also cheaper than the newer nicer cabins. The grounds are a beautiful pastoral setting and the road...

I was amazed and shocked to read the terrible review from someone who stayed at the Normaway on June 24th. Wow! Please consider the remaining reviews, and understand that this individual is clearly the gross exception to the rule. We are Americans (USA) who have stayed at the Normaway probably a dozen times. The setting is bucolic; the inn itelf...
