Kentville itself is nothing special. Had I known this I wouldn’t have gone to Kentville. We stayed here because Wolfville was fully booked. Wolfville is fabulous - quaint and very pretty. The B&B was basic but very clean. The accommodation was comfortable and the host is very nice. Breakfast was nice - home made blueberry and lemon muffins and pancakes with juice, tea and coffee.

The carriage house has one upper and one lower renovated apartment. The lower one, which we had, was very comfortable. We had two bedrooms, each with good mattresses, so we slept well in this quiet location. WiFi reception and television cable service were good. Everything was very clean, and if you prefer self-catering, everything was there: fridge, oven, microwave, dishes, pots, cutlery, detergent and dishcloths. We had eaten before arrival, so used none of them. The next morning we enjoyed the included great breakfast of pancakes with eggs, ham, muffins, juice and coffee, all freshly cooked-to-order and set out in the dining room of the big Victorian home of the pleasant owners. Behind their home, they even have a lovely big swimming pool which we were encouraged to enjoy. We were there to see a comedy at the nearby theatre, and this location was less than five minutes away.

I honestly don’t have anything bad to say - Richard was a great host he made sure we had what we needed and left us to ourselves. The pool was awesome, and dinner was great thank to Richard for the recommendation. We stayed in the carriage house 1 and I have read the other reviews , and yes it may have been a little outdated but still clean and comfortable so made no difference to us. Breakfast was delicious and even though we had no input I’m sure if there was any food sensitivities they would be accomdated. My coffee cup didn’t run dry and there was lots to eat :) It was actuallly better then we expected and would not hesitate to book again!

My husband I stayed on the 3rd floor of the main house for 3 nights. We booked at the last minute after an Airbnb booking fell through. We had a choice of a 'budget' priced room, which we took - the decor was not great, but it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast did come without any inquiry from the host, Richard, but it was delicious, and different each day. The pool was well maintained and I enjoyed a swim in the morning. If you are looking for a place to sleep and then get on with your sightseeing, this was a great place.

The Inn does not have rooms for guests. The accommodations were in "the carriage house" which is a renovated garage project. Our room was above the garage. The bed linens were of substandard. The décor was a mish-mash of furniture, wall art and linen. The television was good. The room was overpriced. The only time we were in the Inn was for breakfast. We weren't asked about any food allergies or asked about the breakfast menu. It just came. The host was "basic". Conversation was limited. I asked for information and his pamphlet collection was not organized. The Inn said it had a swimming pool and hot tub, but we were not invited to use the facilities. It just proved to me that anyone can put a sign up on their lawn. Very disappointing.

Room was as described, however …. Made reservations for Carriage House 1, one of us has a bad back and we didn’t want to have to climb stairs, but upon arrival we learned that Carriage House 1 was already taken. We were given Carriage House 2, which was on the second floor, was clean, had plenty of room, and two glasses of ice water in the mini-fridge – definitely a nice touch. However, at 3 am when the hard-wired fire alarm went off for some unknown reason, we realized that if there had in fact a fire, we very well could have been trapped. The windows are in the knee wall and would be hard, if not impossible, for us to exit from. The only set of stairs to ground level are wooden exterior stairs and could be dangerous in the dark. Breakfast was adequate. Between a bad back going up the stairs and the 3 am alarm, we decided to shorten our reservation. The owner was very gracious and billed us only for the night we spent there.

I requested the bottom floor of the carriage house as I was traveling with my 75 year old mom and sister who just has leg surgery.Upon arriving was told we were on the top floor and when I said I requested bottom the owner just waved his arm at me said it was rented and continued to talk to my husband. I was not impressed from the start. The stairs up was so high and it was raining and carting heavy suitcase was not fun. Room was not bad but need night stand on both sides of bed. No wifi single to weak. The next day at breakfast we did not find him friendly at all. A cat was running around the kitchen which i didn't think was allowed in most places that serve food. Oh and by the way started conversation with couple at next table and find out they had the room that I booked a month ago and they had just called the day before they arrived and were given my requested room . So will not be staying there again nor referring it.

My husband and I stayed at the Grand Street Inn and were impressed with how meticulously well kept it is. It is a large home of over 100 years old and has beautiful wood floors and tasteful furniture. The bedrooms and sitting room on the second floor were very beautifully decorated. We were in the attic and it was more rustic, but very clean and had everything that we needed. There was a sitting room with a TV in the attic as well. The host, Richard was very accommodating, yet unobtrusive. He made us a delicious breakfast of waffles and bacon and waited upon us attentively. As a former soldier in the Air Force, he is straight forward. We found him unpretentious, but gracious. There was a well-maintained pool in the back yard in which I enjoyed a refreshing dip in the late evening. This establishment has a quiet atmosphere that is very relaxing. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Unfriendly host. Breakfast was a joke: cold coffee and cold bacon, NO eggs, NO toasts, plain crepes and a piece of fruit. Spacious rooms but very dusty, not good when you have allergies. I've been sneezing all morning. There is a nice outdoors pool. I wouldn't recommend this place.
