We had a wonderful 2 night stay! The owner, Ghislaine gave us a history and tour of the house and was also very helpful with tips for shopping and sightseeing around Kentville. She was interesting and pleasant to talk with. Larry, her caretaker, cooked us a wonderful 2 course breakfast at exactly the time requested each morning that was filling and delicious! Covid rules were strictly adhered to which made us feel safe during these trying times. The beds were comfy and the house was beautiful!

We were immediately greeted by beautiful hanging baskets and a nice open lawn that we later enjoyed a nice stroll in. When we walked into the house we were welcomed by a very friendly and helpful hostess and she showed us to our room and helped with our bags. It was like we went back in time with beautiful antiques that fit the time period of the house. The king brass bed was very comfortable and we didn't want to get up in the morning. We had a full breakfast that kept us full until dinner served by two young ladies who seemed to be the daughters of the hostess. I recommended this to all my friends if they happened to go to the Maritimes and I definitely recommend this to you.

When we arrived at night, the house was beautifully lit and looked very majestic on the hill. Although we arrived a bit later in the evening, it caused no trouble to the hostess and host. We were welcomed with a warm greeting and were offered help with our bags. The hostess was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and kept us going all day. The room was beautiful, comfortable and most of all exciting! With lots of treasures, it really took us back in time! It was two delightful and relaxing nights. And we would love to come back again! :)

one would assume when staying at a bed and breakfast that the breakfast would be wonderful, right? it was the worse food i have ever tasted and if that wasn't bad enough, the care taker sat at our table with us while we were trying to eat. he acutally spent the entire time of our stay there, talking non stop and complaining about his personal life. then there is the fact that it's a very victorian builiding with oddly placed asian decorations. it was all very strange

Where to start, found the B & B on the internet and reserved for 3 nights. Arrived to find the owners were traveling on business and the care taker was the only person there. The house has many old / antique items and furniture - almost to many to easy move around. The room was large, tidy but not as clean as I would have liked.

The real problem was the care taker, he talked non stop about him self and his past experiences in the army and with his rescue dog. He was over friendly and the description of his dog did not leave us feeling comfortable as he indicated it did not like men and he would lock it up if he left the grounds. We left to see the area in town and when we returned, once again we could not get away from the care taker. This time he talked about he return from the army and the 'adjustment' problems he had. Scared us and we left - did not stay but had to pay for the night.

Have stayed at many B & B but this one, we will never return to.

The website looked like this might be an interesting place to stay. But there was so much "decoration" you could hardly move and it was creepy. The place was not dirty, but not clean. My husband said he was waiting for someone to come out of the shower with a knife. On the positive side, the breakfast was very good. But I would never stay here again.

If you want great breakfast, go to the Wickwire. The guy who makes it is awesome. I forgot his name, but we left the table full with whatever our heart desired. The rooms were clean, right in town, close to the highway and it was a lot better then staying in one of those impersonal motels. We enjoyed our stay and can only recommend it.

Upon arriving at Wickwire House, we immediately noticed the well-manicured lawns, well maintained home, and beautiful baskets of hanging flowers on the front veranda. We entered and were warmly greeted by Ghislaine, who gave us a tour of the house and showed us our room. Our room, which was huge, contained a king sized brass bed, and was well decorated with antique furniture and accessories. The room is equipped with a coffee maker and small T.V., and robes are provided. The entire home is decorated with antiques and interesting items, all of which you are welcome to view and/or use. It was a lovely evening when we were there, so my husband and I sat outside in the gazebo and enjoyed our surroundings. After a restful sleep, we were served a lovely breakfast in the dining room. We felt very comfortable at the Wickwire. The hosts are welcoming, the home is superbly maintained, and the location is perfect.

The dead plants on the front porch are a warning for what's to come. The host while genial was overly effusive. The rooms were spacious but dusty, musty smelling with worn, mismatched linens. The slippers for guest use were dirty; the robes were from goodwill. There's stuff everywhere!
The breakfast was of extremely poor quality; everything was overcooked and left to sit.
This is rated 4 stars and is at best a 2 star.

This is an excellent b&b and very elegantly decorated. We had a large, clean, bright room. They served a scrumptous full breakfast along with the best coffee we had during our 4 week excursion of the maritimes. This is definitely a five star b&b with an great location.
