old fashioned little motel on the main road heading into Kentville, but perfect for our needs, which was to sleep in after the drive-in movie down the road. They welcomed our two shaggy beasts for a pittance more. Great recreation area behind the motel, gazebo, lots of chairs, swinging hammock chairs ( I watched two kids have the time of their lives in those) outdoor fireplace, BBQ's and a great forest trail that the dogs loved. The location was dead quiet in the evening. Bathroom was updated, room had a mini fridge and microwave but no coffee maker. They have coffee in front office, but I like my own before I face the public. Front and back windows, so you get a nice cross draft. Ceiling fan plus a table fan made a nice sleeping temperature. Bed was OK, maybe a little hard ( I have a spoiler at home, so that's just me) pillows were skimpy, but then again, I always bring my own. I have never liked an hotel pillow. If you are on a tight budget, or if it just irks you to spend $$$ on a place to sleep, this is a great deal. and its CLEAN and QUIET.

This little gem had everything we needed, clean and comfortable beds, clean washroom and quiet sleep time. Good value for money. We will be back.

Quaint, clean and service with a smile.
At first I was worried about the traffic noise on Hwy 1, but we slept like babies.
And we couldn't have asked for a better location given our reasons for visiting the area.
The innkeepers were charming, friendly, and helpful.
Can't ask for anything more when looking for an overnight stay.

We'll stay here again for sure!

I have stayed in hotels and motels all up and down the eastern seaboard and this place is probably one of the worst for customer service. Do not stay here if you are sensitive at all to cigarette smoke, mustiness, animal smells or to harsh cleaning products because that was all we could smell in the room. When we tried to calmly and rationally make a complaint to the owner upon our return home, we were actually yelled at and hung up on. Because of this behavior, we lodged further complaints with the tourism office only to receive a phone call from the owner screaming and threatening us that she was "going to take us for every penny." If you are looking for a cheap night somewhere with no customer service, I highly recommend this place. If you are looking to be treated respectfully and fairly then I would seek accommodations elsewhere.

Stayed here recently for a weekend workshop in nearby Coldbrook. Very friendly owners who were extremely helpful and accomodating to our needs. Rooms are basic but comfortable and clean. The backyard is a lovely area with hammock swings, outdoor firepit, BBq's and covered sitting areas. Great place if you are travelling with your dog. WiFi available at the office.

A friend called around for a room suitable for 5 women attending local Christmas craft shows. She was quoted a rate over the phone and they tried to charge her more on check-in. When she cited the name of the man who gave her the rate, the woman working told her you can't rely on men to give you correct rates. That's the point of calling round and price checking and relying upon what you've been quoted. When we opened the door to the room, the smell of mold, mildew and mustiness hit you in the face before entering. The room was not inhabitable and had anyone asthmatic been in our group, they would have had an attack instantly. They offered us two other rooms in lieu and they weren't much better other than having an air freshener parially masking the musty smell, so we ended up staying and driving back to Halifax instead of continuing our weekend trip. They first refused to refund the money as we hadn't given 24 hours notice of cancellation. How would we have known 24 hours in advance that the rooms would be musty and smelly? I guess we should have known better considering they had availability on a busy crafting weekend when most other places in the area didn't. It might be nice in summer when these rooms could be aired out but they are certainly uninhabitable at this time of year.

My wife and I stayed for six nights in a non smoking room. We asked for a queen bed but that was going to be unavailable over the weekend, so we went with the two double beds.

My bed was firmer than my wife's but still it was pretty soft. I will say the sheets felt very nice.

The shower pressure was inconsistent as was the temperature. You had to wait quite a while for the heat to come through.

The toilet kept running through the night. You had to jiggle the lever just right to get it to stop.

There was no phone in the room. We had to use a pay phone, near the office for any calls.

There were two lights in our room that did not work.

The tv was so small I could not follow the ball game from my bed.

When we asked we received new towels. No ask... no towels.

Our beds were not always made up. I'm not sure if this was a misunderstanding or if they only did the rooms when you checked out.

The continental breakfast consisted of white sliced bread and a toaster. There were butter pods and strawberry jam pods (just strawberry...no other choices). The coffee was good though and it never ran out.

I must say that everyone who worked there was very friendly.

I would say for an economical overnight stay, this place would be fine. It was clean when we first arrived. But I would not recommend it for a six night stay.

Basically a motel of last resort. We had driven as far as we should and had to stop. This motel has nothing - no AC, phone, bathroom fan, tissues, missing light bulb, shampoo, bath soap, ice, coffee maker, bathroom taps did not work well, low water pressure in shower, no closet, hair drier and bar of soap was the size of a silver dollar. Also single ply toilet tissue.

Bad, bad, bad and at a fairly high price.

Stay away unless you are really desparate!

I've stayed here on numerous accounts both business and for pleasure. It's very quaint, clean with all the comforts of home. Centrally located to everything some within walking distance! The owners make you feel like you just arrived home after a long day. I"d highly recommend this motel.

Just a minute off the coldbrook exit makes this motel a great place to stop and rest your bones for the night. Quiet and clean, with the cute over sized Adirondack chairs out front makes this motel one for the list!
