Christina was great at check in.....but the room was quite dated. It was clean, but definetly needing some updates. No pictures anywhere on the walls like there was in the room pictures, but lots of unfilled holes where pictures once hung, bed ok but pillows very hard, bathroom was the worst though - behind the toilet tank looked like it... The location worked well for my wife and I, exploring in both ways from the Fair Isle. Great service at the front desk! The rooms (we stayed two times, different rooms) were excellent in one case and very good in the other. Bed was comfortable, bathrooms clean.

An unassuming place with all the right touches. Nothing fancy, but a nice clean room, comfortable beds and nice view of the Bra D'Or Lake. Very accommodating front office helped us out on a number of things. Pool looked lovely; really.wished we had a chance to use it. Overall, really enjoyed our stay... a fantastic deal.

Love that this motel tucked into the hills overlooking Bra D'Or Lake has a Beautiful view and thankfully it is also Pet friendly. The lady in the office is a sweetheart. There's also a little playground and trampoline for kids.

We went on a road trip through the maritimes for a week, and the Fair Isle motel had the best service we experienced. The lady at the front desk was extremely hospitable and made us feel welcome. The room was very clean and the view from our window was spectacular! The only negative thing I can point out is that... More

We had reserved the Fair Isle Motel earlier on before our trip traveling through Cape Breton. Correspondence before our arrival was easy and frictionless. Upon our arrival, Christena greeted us and booked us in. We had an efficiency/kitchenette suite and the view was fabulous. The kids loved the pool and trampoline. Christena was an excellent host, wonderful to talk to,... More

I stayed in one of the budget non-upgraded units in the back which did have a number of small flies in it. The manager, Cristena, apologized profusely for the bugs with explanation, but it does make for a more rustic feel for sure. The outside porch area above door could use a good broom-sweep, as there were lots of spiders... More

Thanks so much your kind review ! This was indeed a banner year for insects despite our daily efforts to wane them off. I have witnesses that know we thoroughly sweep above and around the entire entrances daily, only to see a well established setting the same night :( It all comes back to the lighting.... hopefully we'll be able... My inlaws reside in Whycocomagh. We generally would stay at their house, however we came with a group this time. I booked two rooms for two couples. The motel is well looked after, rooms are a bit dated....however VERY CLEAN! I was elated to see that they open up their facilities to the public (pool, laundry) Whycocomagh is a very... More

The rooms were infested with flies and moths. Paint and furniture needed updating. Beautiful view of the water from the balconies could have been had for free while we stayed somewhere nicer. This location is more like a camp site than a motel.

I'm so sorry about the insects. We have to leave the lights on outside the room for obvious safety reasons and it attracts the insects, which get sucked into the room when the door is opened. Our housekeeping staff vacuums the rooms and sweeps the outside windows and doors daily. The owner and I have been continually upgrading the motel... More
