Small but elegantly appointed rooms. A historical building that was renovated several years ago. The staff were welcoming and very friendly. Emily and Eliza made sure we're we're well looked after. Complimentary breakfasts are excellent. Prepared to order and delicious. We are coming back in another month for a three night stay.

Loved this small hotel. Beautifully located by the river in Port hope. Close to the downtown of Port Hope. Lots of history and ambience in the hotel. Stayed in a beautifully appointed river view room with queen size fourposter bed with fireplace. Friendly staff. Parking is a bit tight but shouldn't stop you from going there. Impressive breakfast come with...

I stayed at The Waddell with two friends. The room wasn't fancy, but it was clean and had character. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we all slept very well. Breakfast was included in the price. We arrived at their very pleasant restaurant near the end of breakfast service and made a few additions to the choices offered. These were...

My wife and I decided our next visit to The Waddell would include an overnight stay rather than just dinner at the excellent Trattoria Gusto restaurant on the mail floor, which we visited first a couple of years ago. The hotel did not disappoint. While not five-star quality per se, you would be hard pressed to find a more charming...

I really enjoyed staying at The Waddell. My room was large and nicely appointed. There was a nice desk area to work at in the evening with free Wi-Fi. The restaurant on the first floor was also very nice for breakfast and dinner. I would highly recommend.

Great rooms and food and the only hotel where you still get a 2 keys, one to get into your room and one to get onto the hotel if you have spent the night on the town. Never had any problems ever. Close to everything and great atmosphere. If you are looking for Four Seasons type hotel, you won't find...

This hotel would rather stick to a strict cancellation policy than make accommodation due to illness. Hotel had at first agreed to verbally charge a 1 night cancellation fee but then changed their mind to charge 2 nights as per strict 48 hour cancellation policy. Also would not agree to apply a credit to a future visit. Lost a customer...

My husband and I checked into the Waddell at the end of a weekend of cycling. What a fantastic surprise - the hotel is beautifully situated right downtown, our room was huge and tastefully appointed, the staff was helpful, but the icing on the cake was that we arrived right when the salmon were running up the Ganaraska River. We...

Anyone needing a place to stay in Port Hope should stay here. Our room overlooked the river with a fireplace and a four poster bed. The attached restaurant has great food for breakfast and dinner made with fresh ingredients. Everyone is friendly and very accommodating. A real home away from home.

Nice boutique hotel near by the Port Hope River. There is a pleasant bar& restaurant at the entrance. I stayed only one night. It was such a nice old decorated, clean room. I highly recommend this hotel!
