Read some harsh reviews but don't understand where they were coming from? Fairly quiet at the hotel with not many cars in the parking lot. Arrived and got checked in easily. The hotel clerk was pleasant and friendly. Rooms okay, are a little dated but the bathroom was super clean. Beds was comfortable and pillows didn't give me neck pain. Morning breakfast was available, toast, waffles, hard boiled eggs, coffee and juice. If you want the full on breakfast then you need to go elsewhere. Yes the building is old but, hot water and great water pressure!

WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE, PERIOD. Planned to bring kids to Parc Omega during Thanksgiving weekend and needed an overnight stay nearby, found this "3.5-star" place at a good price at hotels.com (comparing to the "4-star" Fairmont Montebello), so decided to give a try. First impression: how can you call this place 3.5-star? Room's very shabby and outdated, there's even a huge old 1960s style storage box in our room and I don't know what it is for. Coffee and coffee machine at very low end. Very noisy when water flows from the faucet, sounds like the whole pipeline's shaking. - Cleanliness? It was okay before seeing at least five ladybugs at the ceiling. Later when I went out the front desk (I think he's the owner) asked how many people are staying in my room. I said four including two young children (below 10), then he said they'd charge $15 extra for each kid, because they provide free breakfast and my booking was only for 2 adults. OK, never had this experience and never paid attention to the number of KIDS when booking hotels, but since he said so, I told him my kids wouldn't have breakfast there, and he agreed not to charge. The next morning I went to breakfast: bread and bagel are the cheapest ones you can buy directly from Walmart, eggs are cold, milk's not, only fruit is banana, and that's about everything. Only (relative) highlight is the waffle, which took you to wait for 10 minutes. I left after a cup of coffee, my wife didn't even bother to go. Anyone would be paying $15 for this? Unfortunately my friend was so honest and paid for her kid. If it's just that I'd say this place is mediocre at best, while not worth the price and star rating. Then it came the dealbreaker: Two days later $30 showed on my credit card bill. I called to ask why. Still the same guy, he didn't honour our deal, instead he said we messed up the towel and "DON'T BRING YOUR FAMILY BACK". - I was all of a sudden speechless for a moment. Is this something anyone is supposed to hear in the hospitality industry? And isn't cleaning up the towel part of a hotel's job? Not to mention I tipped for housekeeping as generous as I am at Fairmont. DON'T BRING YOUR FAMILY BACK, thanks for your great advice, I'd definitely follow and would tell anyone DON'T GO THIS PLACE, WITH OR WITHOUT YOUR FAMILY OR ANYONE ELSE!!!

The room was dirty and full of bugs and spiders . The man in charge called Jeffy is very rude ,aggressive , impolite and far of being in the customer service business.. When we complained about the room being infested , we got the most stupid answer from the owner : it is the time of the season.. What a shame ! No hygiene measurements what so ever ..

This is an average hotel that has been kept well. Not fancy but has everything you need including lovely husband and wife owners. Our room was clean . The bathroom spotless. Breakfast was fulsome as boiled eggs, waffles , several kinds of bread and yoghurt plus tasty coffee. Prices very reasonable.

This auberge shows a CITQ ranking of 3 stars. This must be a very old ranking. There is nothing excellent about it. The place is basic and it lacks finesse. I was very disappointed with the continental breakfast. Not a croissant to be found. Little variety, the table is the same 7 days per week. The hotelier is very nice and friendly. His wife is the opposite, rude and uncaring. Oh, the owner and staff wear their masks around their necks. I wonder if they work down there.

Chateau Montebello was sold out, found this one instead. Very clean, family run. Room was well structured, had a beautiful view of the Ottawa river from my room. Nice L-shaped outdoor pool, very popular. Lots of families. Enough parking. Continental breakfast had nice choices, all fresh foods. Price/Value is VG, much cheaper than Chateau Montebello. Give it a try. There are not many restaurants nearby, small town, but Le Bistro did not dissappoint, there was a line-up.

Stayed here on way to Quebec city and really enjoyed hospitality by Jessie. Great stories and advice. Innkeepers make the difference and this one should be enjoyed. Easy walk into town(5 minutes). rooms were good size and well looked after. We drove extra time on way home to stay here again.

Stayed here for a night. Clean place but quite outdated. Had a king bed with a lovely view. The bed was a little hard. And the blankets are not enough for this time of year. Hosts are very hospitable however and the continental breakfast and coffee are fine for a get up and go Style. Prob won’t stay here again though.
