I have taken cooking classes for years but never one in Mexico - this was exactly what I had hoped for - an authentic, personal, hands-on experience with wonderful food and recipes to bring back so I can recreate then in my own home. John and Estella were warm and interesting hosts who also provided lots of helpful information on...

This week with Estelle and Jon has been an experience like no other. I have learned to make many recipes that I will be able to reproduce for friends and family at home. This was a wonderful experience for a solo traveler. I made many friends and enjoyed the warm sunny climate of central Mexico.

What a fantastic experience Casa Carmilita is! The oasis imagined and built by Jon and Estela is like stepping into a Spanish fairy tale. Except there is a real experience of superb teaching and learning about traditional Pueblan cooking. Estela's rich knowledge of her craft is conveyed simply and the constant hands on approach for we learners that the partners...

Can't voice enough positive comments to describe my traditional Pueblan cooking school experience. I had a checklist of specifics I wanted to learn about; each and every one was dealt with Estelle's professional and deep knowledge of the cuisine or Jon's learned 'sous chef' skills. I came away with a new appreciation and growing confidence for all the diverse nuances...

Cooking lessons were well-organized and the results were consumed with delight. Jon and Estela and their staff were so friendly and gave me and my new friends plenty...
