As others have expressed, I hesitate to tell anyone about Casa de Mita because we want to keep it to ourselves. However, I believe it deserves to be praised.
My husband and I have been searching for 'our beach spot' for years. We have found it at Casa de Mita. We spent a glorious, relaxing week there at the end of February. It's perfect. The staff is unbelievably accommodating, always ready to respond to any request, and most of the time anticipating them. The chefs are truly inspired and talented, from the hand made pastries at breakfast to the exquisite salads, fish, meat and desserts at dinner. Expertly made drinks are available at any time, and they will dream something up for you if you like. The dogs are perfectly behaved (Evita the adorable blond Chihuahua snored in my lap throughout our last dinner), the rooms spacious and nicely appointed, the beach is gorgeous and barely populated, the water inviting.
I wish I could express how the staff impressed us! It's clear that they are happy in their work, which I believe speaks volumes about the owner and his policies.
We have traveled a lot, and stayed at some pretty swanky places; Casa de Mita is our all-time favorite hotel.

This was our fifth visit, starting in 2005. The location, facility and food are all excellent, but it is the longtime staff that puts it over the top. Your every need is attended to.
The location is secluded from PV and even Punta Mita; there aren't many places to go except the nearly one mile long beach, which is very uncrowded. But, if you're seeking relaxation you don't really want to go anywhere. There is a car they will let you use if you want to go a few miles to Suyalita or such. It's expensive and all-inclusive, but you feel like you are getting your money's worth.
We will be back for a sixth time and more.

We've been a number of times to this gem that I've reviewed before, and I am pleased to write that it is one of the few places in the world that we visit that really keeps quality standards at the highest level.
For those of you looking for busy, activity-filled breaks, this is probably not the place for you. But for those of you looking for a quiet and relaxing location to read books, listen to the surf, enjoy the ocean, eat and drink to your heart's content, and disconnect, then I am not sure there is a better place in North America to visit.
As others have written, the excellent staff largely remain the same over the past two decades, and they all do great work. From the Argentinian chef Gonzalo to the evening staff of brothers Lalo & Memo plus Manuel, to the morning staff of Carlos, Musio and Fernando, and the cleaning staff, I can only offer praise. And enjoying Madison and Lucas the dogs only makes it feel more like a home (as does the Tequila bar after a nice dinner).
It is entertaining to watch the folks who come in and are dead-set on leaving the location to visit nearby cities or golf courses or even other hotels, only to return and wish they had just stayed and relaxed. We've gone fishing, whale watching, snorkeling, and all other things, but find that the best place, particularly during the hotter months of the rainy season, is at the hotel.
This remains one of the best places in all of Mexico, and should be at the top of anyone's list seeking a beach vacation.

We have been to Mexico about 20 different times and this was one of the best places we have been. Like the other reviews have stated, anything you want they will make sure you get. The food is excellent and the staff (thank you Dylan, Malo, and Mauricio) could not be nicer! Full disclosure this was one of the most expensive places we have been in Mexico but I think is well worth the price. They have eight rooms (could be the only couple there or fully booked) and we were lucky enough to meet some great people from all parts of the US. Staying at the hotel is the best part but we did enjoy, walks on the beach, messages on the beach, and a day trip into Sayulita.

We have been to Casa several times and it never fails to deliver. This is a fabulous getaway. The hotel rooms and public spaces are refreshingly unique - a welcome departure from conventional five star facilities. Each room is different and each is carefully and creatively curated. The public spaces share that same unique aesthetic and offer a variety of opportunities to read, relax, sip a tequila and, of course bask in the sun. The pool area is quiet with several different accommodations for lounging from chaise lounges to private pergolas. My wife and I prefer to stay on the beach which sits directly in front of the hotel - an umbrella, loungers and towels are always set up for us when we arrive after breakfast. The food is consistently delicious. There are multiple dishes available at breakfast, lunch and dinner and if nothing meets your fancy, the chef will go out of his/her way to make sure you are happy. The place and the food alone would make this a five star destination, however, it is the people of Casita Mia de Mita that make this place truly outstanding and memorable - it keeps us coming back at least once every year. Mauricio, Lalo, Memo, Manuel, Carlitos, Carlos, Jonathan and, of course, Arturo are the most wonderful people you will ever meet at a hotel. The landscape and housekeeping people are always courteous, quick to meet whatever request you have and keep the hotel in good order. We consider them all family. And of course I can't forget Madison and Lucas (the canine crew) who are equally wonderful. From the moment you arrive you are welcomed, pampered, humored and attended to in a fashion that gives you privacy as well as service. It doesn't get any better.

This was our 7-8 time at this fantastic property. I want to call out Mauricio, Memo, Lalo, Carlos, Manual, etc. for such great service. The Chef from Argentina is world class. We played golf at Higuera Golf Course which is 5 minutes away. I left a review for that course. Having the ability to play golf and stay at such an extraordinary property is important to us. Please remember to tip when you check out as they don't recommend individual tipping as the cleaning ladies, chefs tend to get left out. Enjoy!!

I have attempted to write this review several times now. Honestly I think because it is my home away from home I have had difficulty expressing my view of this “off the beaten path” piece of heaven. Suffice it to say, if you haven’t been to Casa de Mita you are missing a little magic in your travels. The property itself could not be more beautiful in its understated detail, Marc the proprietor is a skilled architect with an artful eye. Every experience rendered here is a delight, be it cocktails by the pool in the afternoon, a quiet star lit dinner, or the consistent sound of waves lulling you off to sleep every night. Everything at Casa de Mita is as it seems. The beautiful people that are there to serve have been hand picked and are consummately professional but keeping it chic and casual, no stuffy pretentiousness anywhere in sight. The cuisine is “designed” for every meal, every occasion, every whim, and with imagination, while the all inclusive experience makes the stay relaxing and luxurious in a boutique setting- it just doesn’t get any better...I feel confident raving about this gem of a retreat because we’ve booked our stay for 2022 (in fact we doubled the time we’ll visit). Do not hesitate to indulge here, Casa de Mita is good for the soul, you will not be disappointed:) There I’ve done it!

We go there for dinner. The menu changes daily you get soup or salad, whatever the appetizers are for the day than you choose between a meat, fish, chicken or vegetarian dish. All the food is great and you should come early grab a margarita and walk the beach it is one of the nicest beach in the area.

A wonderful, relaxing one week stay in this truly beautiful boutique hotel. The perfect place to recharge the batteries! Casita Mia de Mita is a truly lovely property meticulously run and maintained by the charming Maurizio and his excellent team. The property itself is breathtakingly gorgeous and on a very pretty long stretch of white sandy beach. With only eight rooms (we had the fabulous penthouse room), the hotel is and certainly feels select and secluded. The staff are friendly, professional and so accommodating. Special shout out to the wonderful brothers, Lalo and Memo as well as to both Carlos’s, Manuel and Fernando. And not forgetting, los perros, Lucas y Madison! We loved you guys ❤️ Every single meal we had was delicious and the cocktails were excellent. We were very sorry to leave and head home to dark and gloomy London in January but console ourselves with the thought that we will be back for sure!

Hola Susan, thank you for your inquiry .. yes, our hotel has some unevenness and stairs .. We have a room located on the ground floor and to access it you will have to go through about 8 steps ... I do not know if your walking difficulty is a lot or a little .. We have a team that is always ready to help if necessary .. We look forward to your visit in paradise ..

This is not really a kid friendly type hotel. Much more relaxing by the pool not really a lively pool environment. I think the age of you kids would look for a much more active atmosphere. It is a beautiful hotel and beach but a very peaceful area.
There are more places to choose from in the Punta de Mita area.
