We three middle aged British guys had been to Tulum and Bacalar and had heard from friends and fellow travellers that Majahual was the place to be for a quieter experience by the Caribbean. Bkg.c listings were mostly phone ahead. An ex pat Canadian resident in Bacalar recommended we stay at LCDD as it was at the quieter end of...

This hotel feels a little deserted. It is at the end of the hotel zone and a 15 min. walk from the main city. I would chose a hotel closer to town. Also, the beds and toiletries and new water is provided (1 small bottle) only every 3 days. The internet didn't work the first 3 days of my stay...

Stayed at three different places over 4 nights in this town. This place was first. Management was great, friendly and courteous. Decent book exchange selection, across street from beach with beach chairs and shade for guest use I reduced their rating and moved the next day because bed wasn't terribly comfortable. Would have been better with a hammock

Here is how employees can ruin a business: we arrived at Las cabañas del doctor in a late afternoon. No reception properly visible. We walked around untill we saw a lady and a guy. They took us in a kind of small wooden cabin wich turned out to be the reception (see my pictures) The guy told us they had...

This is one of this places where time stops. You can rent a room or a bungalow in there. We were staying in the bungalow. In front of it you have some wooden chairs and hammocks where you can rest, but what is the best when you look straight there is a beautiful sea. On the beach also you can...

We stayed here for a night and weren't all that happy with it. The staff weren't very helpful and didn't provide much information when we asked about restaurants nearby or why the wifi wasn't working (it doesn't reach the rooms and is extremely slow even when right near the modem). When we came back from dinner in the town there...

We were recommended to try del Doctor while searching for towns off the beaten path. Mahahual is totally worth the drive. Great beaches, small town feel. Las Cabanas is a few blocks off the main malecon so you are away from the crowds on days that cruise ships drop to fill up the town. They offer tiered accommodations from camp...

Perfectly clean, newly renovated rooms for great price. Comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. We did not have reservation and arrived late at night, but the staff was absolutely friendly and helpful. We got great rooms for an excellent price. Its right next to a quiet beach, but restaurants, cafes are also in walking distance. Absolutely recommended.

We had our own room with a private bath for under $30 per night, low season. Very simply decorated but clean room. There is no drinking water in the room so bring your own. You can walk into town there, and parking is right there on the premises. Manager is friendly and only speaks a little English. Internet was out...

We paid $40 for an extremely nice room that easily costs double closer into town. We did not have reservations, but saw the vacancy sign out front. The shower felt amazing and the bed and bathroom were very clean. They have 40 oz's of Sol available for 30 pesos as well as some other drinks. The walk to town is...

“Las Cabanas is down the malecon. Seems to take forever if you arrive at night. Ask anyone for directions. Very helpful people. All rooms face the entrance so you may here cars come and go. There are tents set-up on the beach in front. You can tent camp if u want. Very affordable, bathrooms provided for campers.”
