The staff was friendly and the location was great. But the rooms were a little dingy and the beds were uncomfortable. The main thing that turned me off was the breakfast (not included in the price). There were flies everywhere, landing on the food, and I got sick a few hours after eating here. The next night we changed and...

My message is very simple. Avoid this hotel. We had two small rooms in a dark, stinky corridor. The AC machine was essentially useful as to produce noise, not cold. Holes in the spread, dirty mirrors in the toilette, etc. We were so upset that after seeing the rooms we decided not to stay and moved immediately to the other...

I feel like I stayed at a different hotel than some of the other reviewers. This was our second stay at this hotel. We find it good value for the cost and the breakfast is a wonderful deal! The hotel is old and bit shabby, but it is in better shape then our first visit a couple of years ago....

We stayed at the Hotel Maria de la Luz for one night during our ten-day trip through the Yucatan and it was certainly the most dreadful experience!!! The hotel is nicely located, right on the main plazza but that's about it. The staff is very unfriendly and they don't speak a word of English (brush your Spanish before you travel...

10 Days ago we stayed in this hotel based on the Lonley Planet review. We had been traveling with our two small boys- 6 month old baby and our two year old and the hotel seemed decent enough for a one night stay (room 147). Late at night after everyone was sleeping I noticed small black bugs in the bed...

We stayed 4 nights in August 2006. This is a very basic hotel. Rooms are small but clean - a lot of rooms look over the internal courtyard so can be noisy from the restaurant and bar noise. We asked for a quiet room and got one at the back which was fine and we slept well. Reception staff was...

I have stayed at both the Maria and the Marques el Mason nearby. The Marque el mason is nicer but twice the price. The Maria is great for families, clean and friendly with a breakfast buffet less than $5.You can still go over to the El Mason for dinner if you like.I love the rooms with the small but effective balconies overlooking...

We stayed at this hotel in Oct 2005 for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. The neighbouring El Meson de la Marques is a nicer hotel, but is more expensive. Both hotels are located on the main town square, both are clean and in general the rooms are not that much different, so we opted to save money by staying...
