It is difficult to sift the multiplicity of offerings to source accommodations that offer that rare sense of perfect pitch. Casa Hamaca offers just that. My husband and I visited recently, stayed four nights in the "Chac" room. Loved the staff who were always sensitive to our needs, helpful and kind. Great food, generous portions - think of fresh pineapple,...

From the minute you're greeted until the moment you wave good-bye, you know you've found a special place you'll return to. Denis has created an oasis of tranquility and safety, with stunning flora and and unique architecture. Airy, quiet, clean and cool, did I mention the hammocks? Breakfast is fresh, ample and creative, using local ingredients. The staff are genuinely...

Denis and crew are perfect hosts for your stay in Valladolid. He knows the sights, can help you navigate whether by foot, by public transportation, or by car. The guesthouse is beautifully furnished, comfortable, and the food is delicious. Stay here!

We really enjoyed our two nights in Casa Hamaca. Beautifully appointed building and guest rooms. The hotel is fronted by a tropical garden that makes it feel private and serene. Great host (owner) Denis, and the staff is so kind and helpful. Great breakfast. We liked the location, an easy walk to the main square. Denis was full of suggestions...

Our second visit to Casa Hamaca was just like seeing al old friend again. Everything people have written in reviews are correct and hard to add to. One thing I might mention is ask to make Mayan Tamales with the chief. Totally different than making tamales in corn husks and a different recipe These tamales are cooked in a pibil...

What a wonderful place. Beautiful, clean, tidy and welcoming guesthouse. Rooms are spacious and well equipped with a big bed, a rocking chair and the eponymous hammock. Dennis the host has a wealth of knowledge of the area and is very nice and engaging host. The highlight is the communal breakfasts around the big table in the centre of the...

We had the wonderful opportunity to stay at Casa Hamaca recently and Denis runs a beautiful hidden gem that only makes you want to stay longer. The room we had was HUGE with all the amenities one could hope for in a hotel in such a little town like Valladolid. Denis was a warm and welcoming host, providing us with...

Wow, you can't beat service like this. It doesn't feel like you're staying at a Hotel when you stay at Casa Hamaca, you feel like you're part of a family. We found ourselves saying "Denis's Place" rather than Casa Hamaca and that's because the owner (Denis) makes his guests feel so at home. The rooms are all stunning and the...
