We booked over the phone for a four day to ccelebrate an anniversary. We rang on the 15th to enquire where we could have a special meal. We got told that due it been quiet, the restaurant was closed. The lady of hotel told us to basically find somewhere to stay.

The restaurant has been closed for over 2 years now due to personal family issues. These people did not even stay at the Sandhurst and when they told me it was a special occasion I advised them to look for an alternative where they could enjoy their whole experience!! I could've let them arrive, take their money and then let them down...

Made a reservation for two nights as we were attending a social event in the town. First visit to the hotel, but arrived much later than planned. Hostess very understanding and made us welcome. The English breakfast on both mornings was wonderful. Well presented, well cooked and ample portions. The hostess was very attentive during breakfast to ensure we had...

As a 20 year old female travelling alone to a place I have never been for the first time I couldn't expect more. I recieved a phone call on the morning of my travel about when I would be arriving as normally they wouldn't do late check-ins the lady of the house gave me lots of information about where is...

I was due to attend the funeral of a close friend's family member and having booked ahead and emailed to ask if it would be ok to arrive around 1pm rather than the prescribed check-in time of 2pm, I received an email from the owners confirming this was alright and that they would expect me early. Arriving as predicted at...

It has taken me some time to think of an appropriate response to this fabricated account of this ladies stay. I find it incredulous that you go out of your way to accommodate an early check in despite the fact we were still cleaning the rooms,Yes I do clean the rooms in a track suit ! Check in is stated...

Stayed for 3 nights. The room was traditionally furnished according to period of building, very clean, comfortable and warm. Staff were friendly, welcoming and very accommodating. Breakfast was a proper full English hot and plentiful. Would recommend to others not looking for a 'chain' type stay.

I booked this Hotel/B&B I'm not sure which for 2 nights, as I was away with work. Stepping into this place I instantly felt uncomfortable. It was dark, dreary and needed a lick of paint to brighten the place up. I would also say it needed modernising also. The room I was given was ok but then again I didn't...

We took a chance and bypassed Chester after getting off the ferry and tried a place that would set up us for the next day's travel. The large old house was decorated from decades gone by with artefacts and pictures from probably the early to mid 1900s. We were warmly greeted at the door and shown out room on the...

We stopped here for a 4 night break whilst visiting the area and its National Trust properties. As it says in the property description, it doesn't have a manned reception so we arranged an approximate arrival time and phoned the number that is clearly stated on the brass plate at the door which brought Roweena to welcome us within minutes....

I stayed here as an overnight stopover a few nights ago with my young son and was more than happy with everything The Sandhurst had to offer. The house is stunning and its decor is in keeping with the period in which it was built. Our room (rm 7) was beautifully decorated, extremely spacious and very clean. I have to...
