A lovely friendly local pub dog friendly too, the landlady is extremely friendly, good wide range of drinks and a great outdoor seating area when the weather is good well worth a visit very popular with locals

I have visited the Red Lion on a few occasions now with my family when we visit the area. The landlady is fantastic! So welcoming and friendly, she cannot do enough for you and certainly makes a fuss of my children. I am a bottled beer drinker and she always has plenty in and my hubby loves the ale on...

Another memorable evening in the Red Lion, as winter sets in, it is lovely to be around the traditional roaring fire. Friendly bar staff add to the character of the pub, great buzzy atmosphere lots of chatter and laughter

Just went in for a drink and maybe something to eat so don't know about the rooms etc. From the outside it looks very promising, nice traditional pub. All the more disappointing then when you go in. I ordered a pint of orange and soda. "Sorry, no orange." Oh, I said, I didn't mean fresh orange just orange cordial. No...

My self and a mate were invited to another mates surprise 50th birthday party and decided to stay over. The Red Lion was suggested. We walked in and yes the bar is as you walk in but we were met with friendliness. The place was warm a cosy and we were shown up to our room (suite) which was excellent...

Nice little pub in a lovely area. Just stopped in for a quick half before going for something to eat and was greeted by who I would assume is the landlady who was very nice and chatty. A bit of a "locals" pub was the feel of the place. I wish I had of known it was there and did...

Spent a week in the UK the last week in November 2014. Had a great time at the Red Lion, Hartford. Been before and will go again as we are made to feel like family. Very clean and comfortable and excellent breakfasts.

This is not the sort of establishment at which I would normally stay, and was booked by friends who was unable to accommodate us at their home. I therefore have no idea what it cost, I certainly hope that it was not more than £40 night. Pros, very few; breakfast was good, but brought to you on a plate, you...

This is pub needs new life, the locals stare at you when you walk in and you feel as welcome as a trump in a spacesuit! The bar is directly in front of the door so you have to ask people to let you through- that is if anybody is actually in there. This could be a lovely pub but...

Had the opportunity to stay here whilst catching up with friends at a local restaurant and not wanting to have to drive. Accommodation was clean, bright and more contemporary than I expected. Breakfast was excellent, and the order agreed the night before so it was ready straight away upon making it down for breakfast. The pub itself is a 'proper'...
