We visited tranquility 27/11 on a spa day, I can't praise the place and staff enough. The facilities and treatments were brilliant and the girls were fantastic and chatty, and managed to fit us in last minute for more treatments. Lovely lunch and prosecco too! Thank you! We will be back!

Peckforton castle is a majestic retreat in the rolling hills of west England, Cheshire. The staff were amazing and really made my girlfriend feel like a princess. Nothing was too much effort and the food in both restaurants was amazing.. exploring the castle and the surrounding area was such an exciting experience, finding all the hidden rooms and enjoying the... I can't give enough praise for the experience I had. All arranged over the phone and everything was booked in for a 'his & her getaway'. Checked in... easy. Had a spa treatment which was so chilled and I had so much fun being the guy in the hot tub. The Hen Do there were a laugh too... all in... More

Had a one night stay here booked through secret escapes. The castle and grounds are beautiful, the room was very clean with good facilities, huge and comfy bed just a bit too hot and stuffy for us but I realise some people will complain if it's too cold! The staff were very friendly and efficient and our dinner in the... More

Thank you for your review. I was glad to read that the day itself was amazing but naturally disappointed to read that the following day was not as good; please accept my sincere apologies for any disappointment caused. All rooms do have a hospitality tray, in the executive rooms, these are tucked away in one of the cabinets. We do... More

I arranged a 50th birthday party in the Hexagonal Suite and stayed in The Lodge for the night afterwards. The whole thing was a pleasure. Arranging the event was quick simple and enjoyable. All of the staff were friendly and helpful even with my somewhat complex arrangements. The Chef allowed me to divert from the "normal" buffet menu and produced... More

Room was lovely, they even put balloons in the room, food was faultless, just really unlucky to have a baby next to us, who woke us up 5 times, so left in the morning feeling totally washed out, rooms need to be more soundproof. I did complain, but was only offered an upgrade on our next stay. It's the sort... More

Thank you for your comments. Naturally, it is very difficult to control the sounds from neighbouring rooms, but the rooms are soundproofed in accordance with building regulations. We do hope to welcome you back again, even if it is just to the restaurant. More

Lovely setting. Rooms good size and clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Evening meal in the a la carte restaurant was very good. Restaurant was decorated beautifully. The service was excellent both in the evening and over breakfast in the morning. The only negative was the rooms were a little noisey from the hallway and other neighbouring rooms. Would visit again... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Peckforton Castle - An enchanting Hotel in the heart of Cheshire. Rising majestically above the Cheshire landscape, the castle is both enigmatic and enchanting. Originally the home of Lord Tollemache and built in the early 19th Century, this Grade I listed building is the only intact medieval style Castle in the country. Over the years the castle has been the location for numerous movies including Robin Hood and Dr Who. Now owned by the Naylor family, the stunning exterior has been complemented by a loving and considered restoration programme resulting in a magnificent hotel and venue offering contemporary luxury and impeccable service. Services include 48 stunning individual guest rooms, conference, events, and wedding facilities for up to 180. Tranquility beauty, on site Falconry and team activities all adding up to a rather magical experience. Dining at the Castle truly is a special occasion, welcoming the public as well as hotel guests. The 1851 Restaurant offers a dining experience fit for royalty. Holder of 3 AA Rosettes and a Taste Cheshire Award. Alternatively the more informal and cosmopolitan 2010 Brasserie, located in the former scullery of the castle, features many of the amazing features of the original scullery including two cast iron cooking ranges dating back to the 1840's. Peckforton Castle's enchanting medieval style beauty and stunning location make it a truly impressive and desirable venue for weddings, christenings, birthday parties, or just about anything that's worth celebrating. Everything plays a part; the fabulous setting, stunning location, the attentive service and smiling faces, the bespoke menus and decorations. A magnificent venue for conferencing and meetings. Within the medieval walls, old and new combine seamlessly to offer state of the art multi media and conference facilities. Captivating on arrival, Peckforton Castle's unspoilt, natural beauty will stimulate and motivate, delight the eye, inspire the mind, tantalise the taste buds and leave you enchanted. ... more   less
