What a fabulous location beautiful surroundings an idyllic setting for a special occasion. We had the Eaton four poster room with D&BB booking. The room was brilliant and very spacious. Dinner was cooked by the great British menu chef Mark Ellis and was to die for. This place is a must and even has a host of activities if you...

I had a lovely stay at the Peckforton castle through Secret escapes as a birthday present from my partner, the food, accommodation, scenery & staff were all lovely (I would recommend the wine cellar bar for an evening drink and a fab setting). However we booked and then cancelled archery and shooting (no animals involved) as archery was three basic...

Stayed here last night, treated my hubby to a birthday surprise which I had booked with Secret Escapes. Wonderful sight at the end of a long wooded drive, went through a port cullis and we were really in the interior courtyard where some people were duck herding on the lawn - most unusual. Booked in and had the car valet...

Myself and wife stayed recently for one night dinner B&B followed by a day in Chester. We stayed in room 306, and there was a slight problem with the bathroom on our arrival. (remnants from the last guests still evident in the toilet) Reception manager apologised and immediately offered us another room which we declined. After speaking with the reception...

Day Spa Experience I arrived at my destination through a castle arch to find a fairy tale castle at the end of a long wooded drive and anticipated a lovely spa day to follow. Unfortunately that was where it ended. My friend and I arrived early in the hope of using the spa facilities before our treatments, but this was...

I only attended the evening reception so I cant tell you what the day reception or food was like. a bit tricky to find, the sat nav hated the post code and wanted to drive through the fields. once in the grounds there is more than enough parking, a slight walk to the main entrance. The grounds are stunning and...

Stayed for one night on a Secret Escapes special dinner B&B rate . The hotel is stunning , the staff very attentive and friendly and very keen to let you roam the castle to explore. The 3 course market menu was excellent and the more extensive á la carte menu looked fabulous. The wine list catered for all budgets. Starting...

This was a 2 day break that was booked through Secret Escapes. There are times when booking this kind of deal you get a lesser experience, certainly not in this case. We arrived in the midst of a wedding fair so there were people everywhere but check in was quickly dealt with and the receptionist took us to our room ,explaining all...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Peckforton Castle - An enchanting Hotel in the heart of Cheshire. Rising majestically above the Cheshire landscape, the castle is both enigmatic and enchanting. Originally the home of Lord Tollemache and built in the early 19th Century, this Grade I listed building is the only intact medieval style Castle in the country. Over the years the castle has been the location for numerous movies including Robin Hood and Dr Who. Now owned by the Naylor family, the stunning exterior has been complemented by a loving and considered restoration programme resulting in a magnificent hotel and venue offering contemporary luxury and impeccable service. Services include 48 stunning individual guest rooms, conference, events, and wedding facilities for up to 180. Tranquility beauty, on site Falconry and team activities all adding up to a rather magical experience. Dining at the Castle truly is a special occasion, welcoming the public as well as hotel guests. The 1851 Restaurant offers a dining experience fit for royalty. Holder of 3 AA Rosettes and a Taste Cheshire Award. Alternatively the more informal and cosmopolitan 2010 Brasserie, located in the former scullery of the castle, features many of the amazing features of the original scullery including two cast iron cooking ranges dating back to the 1840's. Peckforton Castle's enchanting medieval style beauty and stunning location make it a truly impressive and desirable venue for weddings, christenings, birthday parties, or just about anything that's worth celebrating. Everything plays a part; the fabulous setting, stunning location, the attentive service and smiling faces, the bespoke menus and decorations. A magnificent venue for conferencing and meetings. Within the medieval walls, old and new combine seamlessly to offer state of the art multi media and conference facilities. Captivating on arrival, Peckforton Castle's unspoilt, natural beauty will stimulate and motivate, delight the eye, inspire the mind, tantalise the taste buds and leave you enchanted. ... more   less
