Lovely welcome from young man on reception who offered me a choice of rooms as a lone female.
Large airy clean room with immaculate bathroom. Bed was super comfy. I chose a rear room in the annex & once windows were shut i barely heard the traffic. Even though it was a hot night the room stayed cool enough. Plenty of parking spaces close to both buildings.
Only downside was the water came out of shower boiling hot ...& it hurt! But i should have checked temp before getting in. Also my keycard failed twice as it had briefly been too close to my phone, which de-magnetised it, my own fault. However staff immediately sorted it for me. There's eateries & shops across busy main road.
I feel like i stayed in a different place judging by some reviews on here. People knocking points off for lack of sockets & soap. Don't people take double adapters & their own soap for overnight stays? I always do. Likewise a 'stained pillowcase'. Well turn it over, or do as i do & take yr own pillowcase, easy peasy. I didnt pay for wifi as i have inclusive data on phone, as do most people nowadays. Someone else said smoking area was too close to their window yet both smoking areas were at least 15 feet from a window! I think people just like to complain about irrelevant minor inconveniences just to be petty!
I would stay again if in the area & I'm glad I ignored the negative reviews i checked prior to booking. The room only cost me £8 more than a bunk bed in a hostel dormitory so was an absolute bargain.

I stayed in the hotel from may till july and loved staying there as it has amazing staff, the rooms are nice and felt cozy and comfortable. Jane who has helped me and was friendly, understanding and always smiled as she was on the desk. i recommend this hotel just based off the staff alone cause if you had any problems or needed any clean bedding or any help with key cards they would immediately get on it and help. the rooms were nice and clean and roomy as there was enough space to relax and everything was comfy and fresh.

Been staying here since March 2023, 2 to 3 nights a week and will continue to stay here. Have tried other hotels in the area but for the homely feel & convenience keep coming back here. Great location, no restaurant attached however loads of eating places, shops within 1 minute walking distance. Rooms always spotless, plenty of towels and tea making facilities in rooms. Cold drinks and snacks vending machine (only take contactless payment) in reception. Reception staff(Jane & Jan) always meet you with a smile and very helpful in putting you in the room of your choice (new quieter accommodation block added with key card access ), and very competitively priced for the area. No air Con, but there is always a Fan in the room.

Handy for Liverpool with free parking and food outlets close by. We needed Liverpool Docks the following morning but hotels in Liverpool were all considerably more expensive. Just over the road from Widnes Travelodge is a Toby Carvery where we had a great meal and breakfast. There is also Brewers Fayre and a Tesco and other food franchises in easy walking distance. Only problem was it is a two story building and there is no lift. As we both have mobility issues we asked to be moved if possible and they did have a spare room on the ground floor. If we go up that way again we will ask for ground floor in advance.

Stayed here last weekend for a little trip away from home and a quick stop in Liverpool. Receptionist was great he offered to help take our bags to the room as we were situated in the far building. We stayed in a first floor room with views of the Mersey gate bridge. Room was spacious, quiet and homely with a large tv on the wall. Parking is free at this Travelodge unlike other Travelodge’s, we went over the road for breakfast each day for £6.50 all you can eat. Room was cleaned while we were out on our second day, coming back to fresh towels and the bed made was a pleasant surprise when we stayed at King’s Cross they only emptied the bin. Would recommend Widnes service was fantastic for a budget chain, price couldn’t be beaten and room was fairly modern.

Another really lovely stay at the Travelodge widnes I cannot praise this hotel enough we are always made to feel so welcome and tend to our every need👍. We arrive on the 3rd May and stayed 5nights the room was spotlessly clean and welcoming and everything was perfect even when you arrive at reception there are lovely planters outside making the place so cheerful and as it was the week the Prince of wales was crowned the king there was banners up made the place so pleasant 🎉. Well done to all the staff but specially Danny and Jane you both do such a good job and Jon and I look forward to coming again soon many thanks from us both 👍

I honestly cannot praise this Widnes Travelodge enough. We have stayed a number of times and we have always enjoyed it so much, the rooms have always been spotless and as for the staff they always make us feel very welcome. We are always greeted with a smile on reception and a lady call Jane has always gone out of her way to make sure everything is perfect for us, as I do have mobility problems. There is a pub across the road if you need an evening meal and also a McDonald’s for a breakfast, all round what more could you want?. Many thanks to all at Widnes Travelodge from the staff on reception to the cleaners who work hard cleaning the bedroom many thanks pat and Jon.

Short stay to see family nearby

Basic but adequate for a short stay.
It could do with a few improvements.

Deep clean of the bathroom floor it is a dark blue pitted style and the dirt was ground in, you could tell it is washed but ready for a deep
clean

Perhaps a more comfortable chair to sit in rather than a basic rigid plastic one

A small fridge

A hand towel as well as a bath one

Staff could ask if everything is OK
we were at a very hot period and only found out there was a fan available but had forgotten to put it in our room

The staff where very nice and helpful
