We love to stay here simply because everything is good! The location is on the edge of a Lakeland paradise whether you like to meander in the valleys or adventure to the peaks, you can leave your car and head out, returning for a pint and then some great food. The people are friendly, welcoming and accommodating, the rooms are...

A good choice for Coast 2Coast. Rooms comfortable although on small side. Loads of character in the bar with many locals to observe, including Floss the dog!! Dinner very good in bar. Dining room lacks warmth and character so were pleased to eat in bar. Breakfast very good with unusual choices-smoked salmon with scrambled eggs or haddock were our choices....

Hotel is tucked up the end Stonethwaite welcome site after a long decent into Borrowdale. Rooms were good, overlooking the trail route for the next day. Food was very good ,Huge haddock and chips , had to share it with another coast to coaster, just to big to eat it all myself.Good beer and the breakfast was very good.

Stayed for the weekend with three other couples. The inn is in a quiet and beautifully situated hamlet (Stonethwaite) in the Borrowdale valley. The bar is warm and cozy, with excellent beers (Jennings, Theakstons, Keswick ales this weekend), and for warm days there's plenty of outside seating. The meals were very good, especially breakfast, and dinner very tasty with generous...

I stayed for 2 nights here on a short break in the Lake District with my cousin and we shared a well designed room with twin beds. This hotel is welcoming and situated in the most stunning position. If you like peace and quiet the lack of phone signal advantage and Wi-Fi was available if necessary. Service was friendly and...

Of the 15 places we stayed along the C2C, this fell into our "Not favored" category. The room was large enough and clean enough, and would've been more comfortable if there'd been a little heat, afterall. it had been raining all week. It felt as though hikers were second rate guests.. Just a feeling spawned by a strained politeness but...

Nice place for C2C. It seems off the path but it really is not. Good size rooms and bathrooms. Clean. Odd that the shower area has a very low ceiling. Pub downstairs for dinner. No TV, Wifi and packed lunches available. Very nice breakfast. Quiet once pub closes. Service no so good in pub. Only two people working bar and...

Online menu offered 3 courses at a certain price, however upon eating there last Sunday there was only one Sunday option and that was Beef. No 3 courses option as stated online and the staff weren't aware of this. The menu given didn't reflect that of the online one, It was beautiful but the children aged 6 and 2 favourite...
